Local Car Club Shows off Hot Wheels for a Good Cause

Posted: Updated:

A local car club shows off some hot wheels for a good cause.

The Mustangs & Fords of the Dakotas club presented over 30 classic cars as part of a fundraiser for Tracy's Sanctuary House.

The House is a non-profit that opened in 2005 to provide a temporary place for families to stay when a loved one is suffering from a traumatic injury.

It is run by Kelsey Zottnick and her father Bruce. Kelsey unexpectedly lost her mother in a car accident and had difficulty finding a place for their family to stay.

Kelsey says they started the hospitality house in Bismarck so others wouldn't have to experience the same situation they did.

She says her mother loved Mustangs.

"I like more of the traditional classic cars. I'm a Mustang girl. My mom use to like Mustangs, so that's been kind of where I lean," says Assistant Executive Director of Tracy's Sanctuary House Kelsey Zottnick.

The car show is now in its third year.

In the past it has raised about 500 to 1,000 dollars for the House.

Since the House opened in 2005 it has hosted over 1,800 families.

Kelsey hopes to reach the 2,000 mark by the end of the year.
