Burleigh Co. Achievement Days

Posted: Updated:
Countless hours of hard work all boils down to just a few minutes in the arena.

This is the horse show at the Burleigh County Achievement Days.
Nearly 20 riders are competing for top prize and to qualify to ride at the State Fair.

(Tyler Kralicek / Burleigh Co. Extension Agent) "You reap the benefits that you put in, in terms of work. Most of these people, especially the horse and livestock. They have been with their animals and worked with them multiple hours. More than they have fingers and toes.">>

Hannah Swenson has been riding and competing in horse shows since she was 2.
The 11 year old and her horse Patrick have been riding together for the past two years.

(Hannah Swenson / Rider) "Just the satisfaction of riding my horse because we both love it. We were born on the same date. March 17th."

Achievement days started on Monday with a small animal competition and wraps up tomorrow with the livestock show starting at 8.
