With all the pandemonium going on in the FIFA World Cup, soccer fans all around the globe are joining in the excitement.
Even in our own backyard-- The Dakota United soccer Academy is in full swing and it's numbers look promising.
The growth in number of kids playing soccer with Dakota United has skyrocketed.
Soccer's popularity is continuing to grow nation wide in terms of the number of kids playing.
Technical Director of the Dakota United program Dave Cook-- says this growth is largely due to parents involvement in the game when they were younger.
With the United States recent soccer success in the World Cup Cook says the kids have new athletes to look up to.
"You know the neat part about it for these kids is to look at you know American players on the international stage and kind of look at them as heroes when it comes to soccer."

You can see the excitement in the kids faces as they play the game that they love.
Kids in the community are getting more involved with the world's most popular game
Some are already looking long term for their career.

Reece Vorachek said,  "Because they might think it's fun. To play high school for BHS.
And Dave Cook-Technical Director Dakota United added,  "For this summer and this past winter those are the biggest numbers that we have ever experienced in the community. So we have definitely seen you know, more players playing the game especially at the youngest ages over the last year, and couple years."
