Bikers Ride for BSC

Posted: Updated:
The 7th annual Presidents Fun Run was held today to raise money for Bismarck State College foundation.

About 50 bikers met up at the college to go on a 120 mile ride to raise money for the Ed Kringstad Memorial Scholarship.

Kringstad was a wrestling coach, athletic director, and teacher at BSC.

The biggest contribution was made by Gary Schumacher who donated 10 thousand dollars to the cause.

In his time at BSC, he was coached by Kringstad-- and said he was only able to afford higher education because of athletic scholarships that Kringstad helped him get.

"Scholarships are very important to getting a great education.  Ed was instrumental in getting us those scholarships.  To be able to keep that going...we are very fortunate." says Gary Schumacher

This year's Fun Run raised 23 thousand dollars and will provide one student athlete with 1000 dollars for each year they attend BSC.
