Hospital Honored Five Years Running

Posted: Updated:

For the fifth year in a row, Hospitals and Health Networks magazine has named Trinity Health as one of the nation's "Most Wired" hospitals.

Meaning everything is connected to computers, making once paper documents digital.

Over 1,900 national hospitals competed for the award--Trinity won "most improved."

Not only is the new system beneficial to the hospital, but also the patient, because they can get their medical information online.

(David Wanner, Vice President of Information) "That's where the patient portal is gonna come into play. That will allow you to access you own records from at home. You will have to sign up once, where you have to come in, and prove you are, who you say you are. After that you will be given a secure user i.d. and login."

From there, patients will be able to contact their doctors by e-mail instead of physically coming in for an appointment.

It's almost here...The 2014-2015 school year is less than a month away, and districts around the region are trying to get a handle on just how many kids will come through the doors on that first day.
