Shrine Bowl Preview

Posted: Updated:
For 42 years the North Dakota Shrine Bowl pits the best High school Football players against one another in an East vs  West  All star game.

This year there is 120 athletes from North Dakota and 12 form Western Minnesota...
There is four teams formed-- an East and West 11 man team. Then an East and West 9 man team.
Many of these athletes know one another not as teammates but as opponents.
The trick for the 16 coaches taking on the job--4 per team-- is to get these players to gel and compete as a team.
"It's been a fun week, and to know new guys, I did the Mondak Game and got to know some of them so I've gotten to know most of the guys but there's a couple new guys and it's kind of fun to get to play with new guys and different coaches too.
It's kind of cool I mean you're with all the guys you've played against your whole life and some of your own teammates and I mean getting ready for college football but you get that opportunity to play one last game of high school football and so it's a really good experience. "
