Two Charged in Drug Deal Near School

Posted: Updated:

Two men face charges following a drug deal near a Bismarck school.

An affidavit shows a Bismarck police officer pulled over a driver for speeding.

The officer smelled marijuana.

The driver--23-year-old Jonathan Kjos--was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.

The officer then located a small baggie of the drug under the passenger's seat.

20-year-old Brandon Kidwell was also arrested for possession of marijuana.

The officer then searched the vehicle and found a large metal container with over 50 grams of marijuana and a digital scale under the passenger seat.

Kidwell admitted selling the pot to Kjos in the 700 block of south 12th street--within 1000 feet of Jeannette Myhre.

Kidwell is charged with a class 'A' felony.

Kjos is charged with a class 'C' felony.

Kidwell is held on $3000 bond and Kjos on $500 bond.
