Whether it's mini donuts or footlongs, many people take time to sample the food when they're at the State Fair.
But how can you be sure it's safe?
That's the job of the First District Health Unit.
Six inspectors were on the fairgrounds today, inspecting all of the 60 food booths.
The health workers were looking at just about everything that goes on, on the other side of the counter.
(Jim Heckman, First District Health Unit) "We're checking for temperatures. We're checking for cold-holding, hot-holding, re-heating temperatures are a big thing. We don't allow any bare hand contact so that's one of the big things we usually stand and observe as they're cooking a lot. We're looking for anything that might be a health issue, safety issue."
Health Unit workers continue to visit food booths throughout the Fair, making sure they are adhering to all the rules.
