Zombie Walk in New Town

Posted: Updated:

What happens if a zombie catches you?

If you're in the Zombie Walk in New Town, you turn into a zombie who helps raise money

for the local Boys and Girls Club.

The group held a Zombie Walk at the Edgewater Golf Course in New Town this week.

More than 250 people participated by walking or running the course - and trying to avoid the zombies who were lurking along the path.

The walkers and runners wore belts with streamers attached - and if a zombie grabbed a streamer, the walker or runner became a zombie too.

There was some elaborate makeup involved - including for the head of the Boys and Girls Club of the Three Affiliated Tribes.

It was all done in fun - and to help raise money to help kids all across the Fort Berthold Reservation.

(Chalsey Snyder, Boys & Girls Club of the Three Affiliated Tribes) "We are thousands of members strong. We are in each segment of the reservation - six segments - are here represented as zombies. We're a huge part of the tribal organization and the reservation. Our job is to influence kids in a positive way and to change their perspectives on life. I would say we're a large part of that and we love our jobs here."

The Zombie Walk was officially named the "Walk-Run for Your Life" and was held Thursday.
