Bringing the Ranch to the Fairgrounds

Posted: Updated:

Just because it's fair time doesn't mean the work on the farm stops...it just relocates for many kids...

In fact on a bright sunny morning like Monday, many had their animals out getting prepped for a day of showing.

Here in the livestock area, every morning it's shower time!

We talked with some kids to see what they were up to...and why they like it so much.

(Heath Heilman - 9 yr old) "Her name is Agnus and we wash her and put revive on her and then blow dry here and take her in and feed her." (Madison Bodine - Voltaire) "I guess a big part of it is you get to build a bond with your animal as crazy as that sounds! I love being around animals and seeing all you can do and all the things that go into it."

Mornings are a great time to check out the kids and their animals that they are showing.

Check them out at the State Fair Center starting at 8am.
