Man Charged For Trying to Break In to Cars

A 19-year-old Bismarck man who was caught looking into vehicles with a flashlight is charged this afternoon.

Police say a witness saw Austin Bergquist trying to break into cars at the Hampton Inn Hotel this weekend.

The witness told police he followed Bergquist to another parking lot in the area and wrote down his license plate number.

The witness called police and officers were able to find Bergquist.

He is charged with unlawful entry into a vehicle and possession of Alprazolam.. both are class C felonies.

Police aren't sure whether or not he was tied to the other motor vehicle break-ins this weekend.
