Extra Patrol on I-94

Posted: Updated:
Law enforcement officials are cracking down on those breaking the rules of the road.
The "I-90/94 Challenge" covers more than 56-hundred miles of highway from Washington to Massachusetts.
Patrolling Interstates 90 and 94 is the main focus during the next four days.

Highway Patrol is also keeping an extra eye out in construction zones.
Captain Kyle Kirchmeier says the state highway patrol is working overtime hours with the DOT to work construction zones.
He says they haven't received a large number of calls for reckless driving.
But they want a visible presence to keep both workers and drivers safe in the orange zones.

(Captain Kyle Kirchmeier / ND Highway Patrol) "WE WANT TO BE HIGHLY VISIBLE THESE CONSTRUCTION ZONES TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF THE TAILGATING, RECKLESS DRIVING THAT WE DO RECEIVE CALLS ON."

Speeding Fines are doubled in construction zones.
