Habitat House Under Construction

Posted: Updated:

Going from almost zero to five hundred volunteers in a year is quite the accomplishment for Roxy Volk.

So is going from one Habitat home project every 2 years to two homes in one year.

Melinda Bolton has more on the partnership making the home possible.

This March, Kum & Go launched it's "Let's Build a Home Together" project, raising money through their customers. Traci Rodemeyer says they met and surpassed all goals set.

Then Kum & Go contributed two hundred thousand dollars of their own. Now they are in Minot after having donated one hundred thousand dollars to build the company's first Habitat for Humanity house... because of the amount of money raised in North Dakota.

So, instead of a slow summer spent raising funds, Roxy Volk is on house number two of the year.

Volk also says the house is coming along nicely.

With all the construction and finances on track, Volk hopes to have the family moved in before winter.
