Bismarck's Finishing Four

Posted: Updated:
Miami has the Big Three, Marvel has the Fantastic Four, and Bismarck now has the Finishing Four...
Four Seniors from Bismarck have won 3 rings over the course of the winter, spring, and summer sports seasons.

Hockey-- Baseball-- and now Legion Baseball. The championship hardware that Quinn Irey, Jared Spooner, Kole Bauer, and Brandon Gieszler have earned is piling up.

The ride has been nothing short of enjoyable for these state champions.
"(Quinn Irey) It's fun we kind of know each other's ins and outs and what we can and can't do. I don't know it's just fun playing our last year together and came out on top."
Playing in a number of different sports together over the years has only strengthened the bond between these boys.
Treasuring state championships isn't the only thing they hold dear to them.
"(Jared Spooner) Well I mean we've played with these guys since middle school, I mean growing up together you make some good memories with them. You know, I wouldn't want it any other way."
Jewelry is something that comes with those state championships and you would think with all of these championship rings that the Finishing Four's hands would bet getting a little heavy.
"(Quinn Irey) No my wallet is getting a little thin though, put it that way."
There is one more challenge facing the Finishing Four before they head their separate ways going off to college. That is winning the Central Plains Regional Tournament and cementing their place in the Legion World Series.
"(Kole Bauer) Yeah we know we can compete with these teams in this regional tournament  we did down in Omaha and we proved that. So we're going to see what happens and a trip to Shelby would be absolutely incredible."
Enjoying the experience is what comes first in regards to the Regional Tournament. Winning is second, and comes along with what the Govs do best.
"(Brandon Gieszler) I think all we have to do is just have fun. I mean we accomplished winning state, I mean just going out there and have fun. I mean whatever happens, happens but we want to win of course. We go out there and play our hardest I think we can compete with the best."
And by next Monday-- they could be adding another piece of priceless metal to their already decked out fingers.
