Shannon Galpin Writes Personal Memoir

Posted: Updated:
By Alicia Ewen

North Dakota Legend Shannon Galpin is an artist, activist, cyclist and now... author.

Her memoir is called Mountain to Mountain and it talks about her many adventures in war torn countries.

She said that the inspiration behind the book came from realizing that no one could tell her whole story right besides herself.

It talks about her adventures being the first woman to bike in Afghanistan where it is illegal for women to ride bikes.

But it also mentions her work as an artist by giving people the opportunity to express themselves through street art.

All of these efforts were to help protect women's rights but her memoir has a few lessons for everybody.

"It's not that just we should get involved but that we have a responsibility to get involved and that can be big or that can be small and I want that book to serve as an inspiration that you don't have to have a background in international aid development in order to create change. It's up to all of us to take baby steps to make change and live a life we can be proud of." said Shannon Galpin, International Activist for Women's Right's.

The release date is set for early September but you can preorder Mountain to Mountain online.
