The commissioning for the USS North Dakota has now been rescheduled.
The Virginia-class submarine ran into problems early this year that forced a delay in the commissioning from May until this fall.
The nuclear-powered sub will now be put into service on October 25th.
The North Dakota recently returned to port from its first voyage on the open sea - a sea trial that included its first dive below the ocean surface.
The commissioning ceremony will be held at the North Dakota's home port of Groton, Connecticut.
