DQ Miracle Treat Day

Posted: Updated:

On a hot day, many of us scream for ice cream.

But today you can enjoy a tasty treat while helping children in need.

August 14 is Miracle Treat Day at participating Dairy Queens nation-wide.

For every blizzard they sell, their store will donate two dollars to the Sanford Children's Hospital in Fargo.

To increase their sales for this event, Owner Mike Wieland says they sold over 2,000 blizzards in the past two weeks to area businesses.

"It just doesn't stop. We figure we mix - we get two to three blizzard machines going and we're mixing blizzards every 10 seconds so it's nuts but it's fun. The kids love it, the staff loves it, customers love it. It's a good time," says Mike Wieland, Owner, Mandan Dairy Queen.

Last year, the Mandan Dairy Queen sold 1,100 blizzards.

This year, their goal is 3,500 blizzards including their pre-sales which Wieland says will be a new record for them.
