High school volleyball teams got the opportunity to hit the courts for the first time this season with their first official workouts. 100 players were on hand at Magic City Campus for the Minot High Majettes who are in a big of a re-building mode. Despite the higher than usual numbers and having a little more size than last year, the Majettes will a few holes to fill but with 4 returning starters, the team is hoping it can improve on last year's 6th place region finish and qualify for the state tournament.
Melora Haagenson, Senior:We have strong hitters, we have strong passers, we're pretty much an all-around team, we got a good setter here and so.
Brooke Suko, Senior:I think we have a really good team coming into this year, a lot of girls coming back from last year that we had up on varsity, having a lot of experience and having the confidence will help us get through the season.
The Majettes open their season September 29th and 30th at the Bismarck Invite.
