State Board of Higher Education Discusses 2015-2017 Budget

Posted: Updated:

School is already in session for several North Dakota schools, but the state's Board of Higher Education is already planning for ahead for future school years.

At today's finance meeting Chancellor Larry Skogen recommended nearly 200-million dollars in capital projects for the 2015-2017 biennium.

Proposed projects include over one million dollars in campus infrastructure replacements at Bismarck State College and an engineering building renovation at NDSU.

The board also discussed raising presidential salaries.

Under the recommendation NDSU President Dean Bresciani would receive a salary of nearly 345,000 dollars in 2015.

"Clearly your presidents are doing very good jobs and so I already considered that in the evaluation process," says Larry Skogen.

The full board will make a decision on the recommendations in September and present them to the Governor for budget approval.
