The Bakken's Boom obviously isn't just oil and gas...but projects and people. And growth on the east side of New Town is taking off right now. We'll start here, at the Little Missouri Inn and Suites. 91 rooms just opened up here on August 1st, with more coming soon. Teddy's is set to be open by the end of the year and offer extended style stay rooms. Look for one in Watford City as well.
Not far from the Little Missouri, you'll find another hotel that is a part of a 55 acre development. This is the Territorial Inn that is open and nearly full every night. It's just a part of this multimillion dollar project however. Here on Highway 23 you'll find this travel center that developer Bob Stenhouse says is perfectly situated for constant business...and it hasn't disappointed -- along with the rest of the projects.
(Bob Stenhouse - Travel Center Owner) "It is beyond our expectations. The motel is full and you can see what is going on here, the multi-family site that Kelly Darling, one of our partners, is completely leased..."
About that -- this is the other aspect of the site. 48 units are soon to open here as a part of the multi-family portion of the project. Rent a two bed, three bath, for 22-hundred unfurnished, or 27-hundred furnished. Darling is in charge of the project that will begin to see people move in next month. She says service will be a key...even down to stocking the fridge if you're interested!
(Kelly Darling - Project Investor) "We want them to be able to email us a grocery list and then we will do some runs each week so they can come home and their food and beverages are waiting for them in the fridge. Any little thing to help make it enjoyable."
More units are expected to be constructed soon here -- on the east side of New Town. With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
