Senior Safari at Zoo

Posted: Updated:

Some special guests attended the Roosevelt Park Zoo today for the annual Senior Safari.

It's the second senior safari the Zoo has been able to have since the 2011 flood.

The Minot Aging Commission provided the food, Trinity Hospital handed out health information, and the zoo paid for seniors' admission.

Zoo employees say they get excited this time of year because it gives them a great deal of perspective.

(Staci Kenney, Minot Zoo Crew Executive Director) "The stories that you hear of when they were young kids, and they remember some of these buildings when they were first built, and some of the exhibits, and it's always great to hear that history cause some us haven't ever heard it."

Tomorrow is Military Appreciation Day.

Where all who have served in our nation's armed forces can come be be honored like our seniors.
