The rain may have put a damper on the outdoor festival on Main Street, but "Why Not Fest" is still going on in downtown Minot, with indoor entertainment for the next 3 days to celebrate local music and visual arts.
This is the 5th year of Why Not Fest, and 100 local and regional bands and musicians will be playing at various downtown locations for the whole weekend.
All ages are welcome to attend the event, and the coordinator says that it has something that can appeal to the taste of everyone.
(Jazmine Wolff, Festival Coordinator) "There's a variety of different music. And so it's not just one genre. I really feel like you could be interested in a bunch of - in one of the acts that we have here. So I guess I would just say, make it a point to come out, maybe experience something new. Get involved in your local arts community, come hang out at Pangea House, because we have a new place and we want to show it off."
The event started tonight at 5:00, and costs $15 for a weekend pass, which can be purchased at the Pangea House.
Also, some of the vendors that were going to be at the Festival on Main tomorrow will set up at the Vegas Motel Atrium from 10-5.
