Less Traffic on Golf Courses During Chilly Days

Posted: Updated:

This August, we've seen a lot more rain and cooler temperatures than we normally do.

The past couple of days have been around 20 degrees below our average high for this time of the year.

Riverwood Golf Course in Bismarck was unusually quiet this afternoon with just a few golfers on the driving range, putting green and throughout the course.

Management says they tend to see fewer people coming to golf once it starts to get colder outside.

However, the people that were out today say they prefer to golf in this weather compared to our hot summer days.

"I like it when it's a little cooler like this. One, you get the course to yourself more, so it's a little more peaceful," Matt Schirado said.

"It's been wide open golf for us all day. We haven't had to wait in line for anybody on any tee-box so really good golfing," Kelly Hall said.

Later this week, the temperature is expected to rise into the 80s.
