Man Accused of Shaking Baby Changes Plea

Posted: Updated:

A man accused of severely injuring his 16-month-old son by shaking him last year has changed his plea.

Jeremy Young's jury trial was supposed to start today, but yesterday he pleaded guilty to the child abuse charge.

According to court documents, Jeremy Young took his baby to the hospital because he was having a seizure.

Tests showed the baby suffered severe retinal hemorrhages and brain swelling.

Documents say the doctor told police the baby would more than likely have impairments with his eyes and brain functions.

Judge Bruce Haskell has ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Young faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
