Bravehearts for Kids Holds First Buffalo Berries Event

Posted: Updated:
A new charity event in Bismarck promises 100 percent of its proceeds will go to families in need.

The Bismarck charity, Bravehearts for Kids kicked off the first ever Buffalo Berry Fest at Sertoma Park to raise money for families affected by pediatric cancer.

There was lots of entertainment for kids such as a limbo contest, a marching band of Kazoo's as well as live music.

Bravehearts for Kids is hoping to set aside one day each year where people can gather Buffalo Berries to be made into jelly, jam or syrup--which would then be sold to supporting things like ALS, down syndrome, autism or any charitable foundation.

"A festival that will be shared by all nonprofits, not just Bravehearts for Kids.  We are intending this to grow and be a part of any other organization." says Adrian Jacobs, Business Development Consultant for Bravehearts for Kids

Tonight the event will head to the river for a Parade of Lights boat parade with the Bismarck Riverboat leading the way

Organizers say this there are no paid positions and this foundation is completely nonprofit.
