Minot Air Force Base Holds Zombie Run

Posted: Updated:

Weather at the Minot Air Force Base this morning was sunny and cool... the perfect conditions for a Zombie fun run.

The Minot 5/6 organization in collaboration with the American 300 organization put the event together.

Two groups took off against about a hundred zombies... and prizes went to the fastest times at the end of the race.

The rules were simple, you get three 'flags' and if they all get pulled off by zombies, you become one.

Staff Sergeant David Wallace says the population will be cleansed at the end...

(Staff Sergeant David Wallace, 5/6 Apocalypse Run Coordinator) "For those that did in fact survive the zombie apocalypse we have, near the end of the run, a decontamination spot where the fire department will spray them down with water and essentially decontaminate the survivors, in case they may have been contaminated by our zombies."

Wallace also said the event was a great warm up for the 91st Missile Wings Red Button run next week, which stretches nearly 400 miles and will include a separate half marathon on the base.
