Right after Global Warming, Ethanol is the next greatest hoax perpetrated on mankind.

Other than it's effect as a de-icer, it is a joke. I have tested pure Gasoline versus Ethanol and get less MPG'S with Ethanol Blend. As far as I'm concerned Mr. Hoeven and Mr. Dorgan and the other two suspects, can stick Ethanol where the sun don't shine.

But it's a real income bringer for the Agricultural Engineers out there so they will get voted back in.

Schuks, no pun intended, Corn will bring $20 a bushel before long. This will create a shortage of Wheat and the price of that will raise also. 3 dollar a loaf bread is just around the corner.

Best wishes, Bill Reply...

Hoeven is comical. This guy is as far left as Dorgan in so many ways. I want all the liberal/rhino/hand out kings and queens to get voted out. This country can't afford people like this. I'm voting for whoever runs against Dorgan as long as his last name isn't Hoeven. Sand, Sorum, Wrigley, whoever. Just no Hoeven. We can't afford another liberal "representing" us. Reply...

In Article: Sex Offender Addresses

Has anyone stopped to consider the factual basis for these laws or their effects?

(1) According to US Department of Justice statistics, only 5% of sex offenders released in 1994 were returned to prison for a new sex crime.

(2) Additional research has indicated that most sex crimes are committed by persons known to the victim, NOT BY STRANGERS.

(3) Research also indicates that most sex offenses are committed by FIRST TIME OFFENDERS and not by repeat offenders...a fact reinforced by the 5% recidivism rate.

(4) States already have registries, and now the federal government is imposing its legislation on a state matter, threatening to remove 10% of federal funds from non-compliant states. This is more about money than public safety.

(5) Do you consider your federal government MORE efficient and responsive to the public interest than the states?

(6) Do you support a national ID card system? There are more than 650,000 people registered as sex offenders today with an annual growth rate of 7%.

(7) Most are not aware of the increasing number of persons considered to be "sex offenders" or the crimes they have committed, including persons who have simply urinated on the side of the road without knowing a minor was present.

(8) The largest group of registered sex offenders are 14-year-olds who will more than likely never commit a new crime.

These laws are a bad idea. Reply...

In Article: Sex Offender Addresses
For correction, Matthew Crabtree was not convicted of having sex with three girls. It was only two, one of which was his girlfriend of 15 when he was 18. That should hardly classify as a sex offender but this is the law of the land. I think it is time for someone to change these laws. Especially when the media and government is so quick to call the men sex offenders but there is no justice for the little thirteen fourteen year old girls parents who allow those children to dress like they do, showing more skin than any little girl should. Get your facts straight before you brand a man who has paid his dues Bismarck. Reply...

I feel sorry for those frightened confused bats who will now bear the brunt of people's ignorance due to the slant of this story. If the woman in this story doesn't want to deal with wildlife, then move to the city where it's not as prevalant. Reply...

In Article: Postal Cut-backs
If the United States Postal Service would trim the rediculous pay rates significantly for only those that are paid over $200,000/ yr, it is likely that no other cuts would have to be made. It is sad, that in our nation, top CEO's flourish at the expense of those who working couples who can barely make $60,000/yr combined, both working full time! When will we put a stop to ripping off of the American citizens who actually work for their money & start making those CEO's and boards that approve these rediculous wages (not to mention severance packages if fired) accountable for their actions? Please pay attention to the facts. Look at the pay of the top people in the USPS and many of the largest companies/ corporations that have been lead down the path of failure. Economy, bologna!!! This is a legal form of HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! The worst part about it is; Those that can do something about it are obviously paid well not to do anything. I challenge the USPS to widely publish a list of all executives and board members that are paid over $200,000./ yr because you will then be looking right at the list of people who are responsible for the prices going up while the services are being reduced. I believe that this would also be a partial list of people directly responsible for the the failure of our economic system today. To complete the list, compile a list of those other executives paid over $200,000/yr who also lead their companies to failure. Reply...

In Article: Attempted Abduction
I just heard about this story earlier this morning. This morning my kids and a neighbor kid walked to school. As I was about to turn north onto Washington street I noticed a big white van with 2 men inside that gave me this weird feeling and I noticed that van braked right by the kids. There was a vehicle right behind it and saw that they kept going. I didn't think much about it after that until I saw this story. I immediately called the school to make sure all three kids where there. The pricipal went out to the playground to make sure they were. Please make sure your kids are safe and they know what to do when confronted by strangers. This incident this morning happened in the southwest end of town just 3 blocks to the north of Solheim. In Article: Bats attack woman
Bats have been known to use closed patio umbrellas as daytime roosts, thinking that they have found a safe spot to sleep after eating thousands of mosquitoes around the yard all night. Apparently they also use grill covers on occasion as well, and they were undoubtedly more frightened by this encounter than the homeowner. It is good that she sought prompt medical advice after the incident, but the claim that 24 people die per year of bat bites and rabies in the US is incorrect and your reporters should be more careful to give accurate information on such important subjects. In Article: Pool money
If you're in a hurry to do that, you might as well try to loan with the lowest interest rate. People might wonder what is meant by installment loans. Installment loans are often mentioned as an aside to payday loans – although installment loans are technically the wider category of financialtools. Installment loans are simply loans of whatever type that are paid back in installments instead of all at once. Technically, most large loans are by definition installment loans – mortgages, auto loans, student loans, business loans all are paid in installments. Payday loans lenders usually have installment options, and in some states are required to by law, and typically have several installment plans available, if you need the option. So if you need short term loans, i.e. payday loans, they most definitely can be installment loans. Click this site http://personalmoneystore.com/Short-Term-Loans/ for more details. Reply...

In Article: Conrad, Pomeroy haven't set 'town hall' meetings
Senator Conrad's largest campaign contributor over the last five years is the Davita Corporation, a nationwide health care service provider. You don't suppose all his rhetoric about co-ops is really just about kissing up to Davita's lobby and securing his campaign contributions for the next election? I'm sure Davita would prefer to compete with a feeble co-op system rather than a substantial public adversary. Reply...
