If you can't stop vomiting and can't keep anything down, then yes....that is a reason for dehydration. Reply...

I would love to hear about the reflux issue and your answer.  I have the problem.  As I said earlier, I have a band about 3 yrs now and love it.  I have to be careful what, how fast, and the time I eat because of the reflux.  In fact I have very little fill in my band cause of the reflux.  I need to go see the doc that did my band.  I have been waiting to see him because I hate to make a bill again.  I just got it paid off and I have not used my insurance this year so I still have the deductable to pay so I thought I would wait till next year.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Well, with any luck we will be at our house in Az tomorrow.  I am so glad.  It has been a long trip.  We left one week ago tomorrow and have will have put about 2400 miles on the car.

Today, we went through Carlsbad Caverns.  It really was neat.  I think everyone should go if they get close to it.  I walked through most of it.  My husband took the handcapped trail and made it okay.  I walked the entire great room trail and I walked the 7500 feet that takes you into mouth of the cave.  It is almost straight down.  It really gives you a idea of how huge the cave is and how far down it goes.  Anyone else been there?

Theresa, I hope your surgery goes well.  I have a sinus problem.  I sometimes wonder if it is allergy induced or something else.  By the way, I told my hubby you got hearing aids from the VA.  How did you go about getting them?  He needas them but we don't have the 7000 at least to pay for them.  Are yours the digital ones?

WEll, gonna watch tv and hit the hay early.  We want an early start tomorrow.

Later Ladies and to all a good night.

Hi everyone how are you today? I am good, thanks for asking, I also am having surgery in December.  For anyone in Minot that is reading this that has ear or sinus problems there is a new doctor at ENT at Trinity, he is marvelous. After years of pain he is doing sinus surgery on me.

Curly that is a scary story with the cow poop on the car; do you know what I do all the time now? I carry my cell phone right next me and take photos of trucks and cars that are breaking the law, you should have called that truck in, that is not suppose to happen.  My prayers are with you and your husband every day.

KO you are nice not to take advantage of what is yours, do your kids with him have military benefits? When I was a First Sergeant, I was always on men to own to their responsibilities. Like your friend with the child of a military man, that child is entitled to a life time of benefits. Enough about that I was getting worked up sorry.

Marilyn if you are reading this I am sorry if I made you mad. This room is a separate forum; we all just dump our stuff.  Marilyn how about that bus accident in MN, and the today show had this story about boys hurting people for a YouTube moment.

Care do you have a map application on your phone? I do, I have a map of anywhere, and too bad I never go anywhere.  Keep the Shelbeast up with her school, make sure she knows she has to be smart in her life, and not have to depend on any man to take care of her. I tell my daughter that every day; she needs to focus on college and not her looser boyfriend. I tell her knowing how to play “Call of Duty” video game will mean nothing when in 10 years. She makes me so mad; don’t get me started on that one.

Shoppe, I love you so this is for you...

Happy Friday!
MMM I 100% agree you; will not lose weight soley depending on the lap band. I'll use the car as an example.
When you buy a car. Do you drive it home and hope and pray someone tells you what to do next? OR do you ask??? Getting the band is like getting a new car, you've got to take care of it.  Maintenance is involved.  When your car acts up do you park it and just walk to work OR do you call and schedule an appointment? See this is simple folks.
When getting the lap band you will be handed a post op set of instructions. Follow them to a 'T' and you'll be on your way to a healthy healing phase. Once you are past the first 6 weeks you'll want to take your band for a test ride. Take the corners slowly and be aware of your surroundings. Listen to your body. You should get a signal when you are full. If you are eating  more than 1.5 cups of food you need to go see your doctors. Occasionally you'll want to stop in and service your car (band) and when you hit a bump in the road or an accident call someone.
There is no excuse for becoming dehydrated! If you start your day with a plan such as buying a bottle with the ounces labeled on the side. Tell yourself, "I will drink 3 of those today" and then apply yourself. That car isn't moving unless you put the key in the ignition!
Someday I will write an article completely about reflux and what to do next. But folks - - puking daily, having nightly reflux, getting dehydrated, even not loosing weight....is not acceptable. Something is wrong and you must go see your doc. Trust me for the amount of $$$$ USA docs are charging you should be getting A+ care. Are you?? Has your doctor or his/her team contacted you since surgery? Ask me someday what my job consists of and I'll tell you the buck doesn't stop when you wake up from surgery.

See ya soon in Bismarck!

Brock could have very easily died had he not come to Bismarck. Canada had not enough staff and had no idea what was wrong with him and why he kept getting sicker.

CANADACARE MAY HAVE KILLED NATASHA

COULD actress Natasha Richardson's tragic death have been prevented if her skiing accident had occurred in America rather than Canada?
Canadian health care de-emphasizes widespread dissemination of technology like CT scanners and quick access to specialists like neurosurgeons. While all the facts of Richardson's medical care haven't been released, enough is known to pose questions with profound implications.
Richardson died of an epidural hematoma - - a bleeding artery between the skull and brain that compresses and ultimately causes fatal brain damage via pressure buildup. With prompt diagnosis by CT scan, and surgery to drain the blood, most patients survive.

Could Richardson have received this care? Where it happened in Canada, no. In many US resorts, yes.
Between noon and 1 p.m., Richardson sustained what appeared to be a trivial head injury while skiing at Mt. Tremblant in Quebec. Within minutes, she was offered medical assistance but declined to be seen by paramedics.
But this delay is common in the early stages of epidural hematoma when patients have few symptoms - - and there is reason to believe her case wasn't beyond hope at that point.
About three hours after the accident, the actress was taken to Centre Hospitalier Laurentien, in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, 25 miles from the resort. Hospital spokesman Alain Paquette said she was conscious upon reaching the hospital about 4 p.m.
The initial paramedic assessment, travel time to the hospital and time she spent there was nearly two hours - - the crucial interval in this case. Survival rates for patients with epidural hematomas, conscious on arrival to a hospital, are good.
Richardson's evaluation required an immediate CT scan for diagnosis - - followed by either a complete removal of accumulated blood by a neurosurgeon or a procedure by a trauma surgeon or emergency physician to relieve the pressure and allow her to be transported.
But Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts is a town of 9,000 people. Its hospital doesn't have specialized neurology or trauma services. It hasn't been reported whether the hospital has a CT scanner, but CT scanners are less common in Canada.
Compounding the problem, Quebec has no helicopter services to trauma centers in Montreal. Richardson was transferred by ambulance to Hospital du Sacre-Coeur, a trauma center 50 miles away in Montreal - - a further delay of over an hour.
Because she didn't arrive at a facility capable of treatment (with the diagnosis perhaps still unknown) until six hours after the injury, in all likelihood by that time the pressure buildup was fatal. The Montreal hospital could not have saved her life.
Her initial refusal of medical care accounted for only part of the delay. She was still conscious when seen at a hospital and her death might have been prevented if the hospital either had the resources to diagnose and institute temporizing therapy, or air transport had taken her quickly to Montreal.
What would have happened at a US ski resort? It obviously depends on the location and facts, but according to a colleague who has worked at two major Colorado ski resorts, the same distance from Denver as Mt. Tremblant is from Montreal, things would likely have proceeded differently.
Assuming Richardson initially declined medical care here as well, once she did present to caregivers that she was suffering from a possible head trauma, she would've been immediately transported by air, weather permitting, and arrived in Denver in less than an hour.
If this weren't possible, in both resorts she would've been seen within 15 minutes at a local facility with CT scanning and someone who could perform temporary drainage until transfer to a neurosurgeon was possible.
If she were conscious at 4 p.m., she'd most likely have been diagnosed and treated about that time, receiving care unavailable in the local Canadian hospital. She might've still died or suffered brain damage but her chances of surviving would have been much greater in the United States.
American medicine is often criticized for being too specialty-oriented, with hospitals "duplicating" too many services like CT scanners. This argument has merit, but those criticisms ignore cases where it is better to have resources and not need them than to need resources and not have them.

Hello everyone!

Anyone heard from Marilyn?  I have not seen a post from her anywhere on the forum and a long time.

Well, I have been on a roll.  We left last Saturday for Fargo.  We stayed there until Monday morning and then we left for Minneapolis to see hubby's doc.  They are making application to Workforce safety for him to have surgery.  I am not sure if it is the right thing to do but the poor man needs to get releif and it is the only thing anyone has really offered.  They will remove the metal from his spine and try to clean up L3.  If approved it will be in Dec some time.

Then after his appointment was over, we left Minneapolis for AZ as a final destination.  We are driving down a old car we bought for our use down there.  It is an old Lincoln towncar.  It is a 1999 and it is really still a very nice car and is perfect for what we need it for.  It was cheap too.

The trip has gone pretty well, except for the fact that he is miserable and pretty high on pain meds so he can stand the ride.  Right now he is passed out in bed and has been for about an hour and it is only 7:30 this time.  We are in New Mexico.  I hope to make it either tomorrow or the nxt morning.  We will fly back to Bismarck on Dec 2.  We will be there until the surgery is done or we will just fly back to Az for the remainder of the winter.

Gotta tell you a funny story.  We were driving into a little town called Hampton Iowa.  It was just getting dark and I was driving.  It smelled like Pig, chicken cow dung and it was pungent.  Well, a truck is coming from the front and just as it went by, one (or more) of the animals releived itself and it hit our car big time.  I almost hit the ditch.  Hard to see through that stuff.  GROSS!  The next morning I took the car to a do it your self car wash and spent 10 bucks washing the yuk off the car.  I almost lost it cause I do not have a very strong stomach and that was about at the top of my limit.

Well, sounds like you are all fine. Si Ko I know you are very sad and I feel for you.  Wish there was something we could do to ease your sorrow.

Well, good night ladies.

bye

They are quoted with saying there wasn't enough nurses and doctors to get the proper care.

As it turns out his intestine was leaking into his stomach which was causing the sickness. The doctors in Bismarck told Dana White (president of the UFC) that Brock has had this for at least a year. Reply...

This came out of the Team Lesnar camp... "His symptoms became severe while in Canada, which because of their health care system made it difficult to manage. And at this point it's a possibility that it could jeopardize his career. "

Hello everyone, how are you today? I am okay; I had a busy day today. Of course I started with the paper route, and then I went off to the soup kitchen at about 0730hrs.  I made a banana cake this morning, if you ever have brown bananas; I have a great cake recipe. From bananas to cake in 45 minutes, if you want banana frosting an extra ten minutes.  I add chocolate chips, everyone loves my banana cake.  I helped get things ready for the soup kitchen, and then I had to get a CAT scan at 1130. So I had my CAT scan stood up and passed out, cold fish. I woke up to smelling salts, there were people around me and they wanted to take me to the emergency room.  I didn’t want to go, but they said I had to and I can’t wait to see this bill. I have problems with passing out, I have no idea what triggered it. I am home now all safe at my computer.

KO, KO, KO, smells like you had a rough day, I remember those days of sick kids and poop. I really don’t want to think about it.  Your x husband retired from the Military right? How long were you married to him, you know if you were married over ten years you are entitled to half of his retirement, did you know that?  That is why my husband hopes I never leave him, there is no law that says he is entitled to half of my military retirement, but I get half of his. I would never take it, when we split it will be clean, divorce in a do it yourself box, sells at office max $79.99.

Care how is the clean up going, okay let’s do it… Let’s do a looky look at the world of Care

Care if I was there, we would be going to see The Beatles tribute band
