Ruben.   I hope things work out for you.  I know if you have a problem with any kind of addiction, and no address its very hard to get a job.  Does your town not have shelters?

In Charlotte we have several sheters where women can sleep, and seperate quarters for men.  We have the Salvation Army building where men can go anynight,  get a mat , sleep safe, and have a warm meal.   And we don't have the snow /winter problems you do in ND.

Yes, we need to help the  homeless at least keep warm and have a hot meal.    But our biggest job is to keep the homeless from their life of addictions and get them back into society.

I read about the error, so I know it might not have all been your fault.

sincerely,

vivian

Oops...I erred... Ruben, he or she, walked into a police station to be arrested. I misunderstood and thought you meant you walked into a jail. You still can't get arrested just for walking into a building. Reply...

Your name is Ruben and you went to the Mid-Dakota Center for Women? You can't walk up to a corrections officer and expect them to arrest you. For one thing, they don't have arrest powers and secondly, you need to commit a crime. I hope things are working out for you now. Reply...

Stinger, you've posted alot of common sense. I say too, let the cops know when and where a crime will take place, so they can be there waiting. That's funny! Some people just don't think, at least not logically. Reply...

The Bismarck Police Dept. does a great job and they are professionals. It's the Sheriff's Dept. that has problems. But even there, there are still a few good ones that are honest. The leader needs to be changed ,as soon as, election comes up and then, hopefully a honest person takes over as Sheriff. Reply...

A lot of folks have this misconception in their  BB Brains that The Police department is supposed to prevent crime.

The truth is they are not  pre-active but are pro-active. They can't do anything until a crime is commited. You can't arrest someone on the presumption they MIGHT commit a crime. If that were the case we'd all be under house arrest.

Cut the guys some slack. Be vigilant, report suspicious activities. If ya see something that is wrong report it. Now reporting Petunia Spudrucker cause she has her long underwear hanging out on the line in the back yard is going a bit far. Use the common sense the Good Lord gave you.

If Y'all think being a Policeman, Cop, is an easy job why not submit your job application and try out to be one of the cities finest.

And NO I am not a Policeman now or formerly. But I am strongly on the side of Law Enforcement.

Best wishes, Bill

with all law abiding people willing to complain about law enforcement problems in crime, get active, buy some guns and protect yourselves and the neiborhoods you live in.  Cant let the police have all the fun, they get paid to protect you, you can do this for free. Reply...

Yes I live out in the country.  And I live there for one reason only, and that's because I love nature and wildlife.  If I were afraid of every animal around I would have never moved out here.

I will never kill an animal, no matter what.

My brother lives near Danbury Wisc and he and his wife have had bears in their yard raiding their bird feeders.  My brother, like me, does not own a gun, nor will he ever own one.

If I ever feel the need to be afraid or fear any animal then I might as well be dead, anyway.

You live out in the country, correct Pets? City is different, and they had seen this cat more than once. Nobody wanted to shoot it, but it's actually pretty common for a bobcat or mountain lion to attack people. We've moved into their territory, so we bring it on ourselves. I've read numerous news stories of people and animals being attacked and sometimes killed by these two cats. They aren't afraid and they are hungry. It's a sad state of affairs. Reply...

.............people scare me, Jack.  People with guns.  That's what is scary to me the most.  Not animals. Reply...

Jack, this animal was prowling around at night.  Who knows for how long?  We had one near our house last spring.  We only saw it once.  Didn't bother me any.  We apparently didn't loose any barn cats.  Our dogs didn't have a fenced in area at the time and nothing got them. Nobody around reported loosing any calves.  Nobody else even saw it or they would have been talking about it.

Those aren't the kind of things that scare me.  The one we saw last spring could still be around here for all we know.  I am not going to worry about it.  I've got lots of other things to worry about that are real..

Animals don't scare me.

pets - "who knows how long it had been hanging around....?"

This thing is not exactly a mouse, you think no one can notice an animal of that size, in the city?  You've got to start thinking before you type.....

Maybe they could have moved it to your neighborhood, and you could have "Feed the Wild Animals" to keep it nearby?

Who knows how long that cougar had been hanging around before somebody just happened to see him?  That cougar or others.  If somebody hadn't seen him nothing probably would have happened and nobody would be any worse off.   Nobody in that area had been injured by one.  I don't think anyone had been missing any pets.

People make such a big deal out of something like this.  How about making a big deal out of the way sex offenders are handled in this country?  How about making a bigger deal out of the drug and alcohol problems in this country?  How about making a big deal about poverty in this country?  How many people die every year because of smoking?  These are some of the things that are a real danger to kids and adults, not cougars.  All they would have had to do with the cougar was to fire a few shots in the air and he would have been gone.  But no, "get out the old gun and blow it away" is the answer to everything nowdays.  It's easy and it's fun.  Well next time any of you see someone selling cigarettes to a kid or drugs and alcohol to a kid try getting out the old gun and blasting away.
