Yes it's nothing but a revolving door for alot of felons. Sowell has been a busy little man in a short period of time. Me thinks he's crazy and will never get out again. Let's see...does Ohio have the death penalty? Reply...

So, we agree that it is nothing more than a revolving door - with murderers and rapists and pedophiles freely walking among us.  How about the latest news about the released rapist in Ohio?  Six bodies found in his home.

Sowell was released from prison in June 2005 after being convicted of rape in 1989.

I truly believe that it is time (waaaay past time), to hold parole boards, judges and even the state that these people are released from, ACCOUNTABLE for the actions of the released, convicted criminals - enough is enough.  6 people dead since this creep got out in 2005 - needless deaths.

I know someone who sued a state on the west coast for something that happened to them, due to the release of a very dangerous person - they won...............they won millions.  But, the millions can never, ever restore what was lost to this person.  Point is, it should never have happened, because the person who committed the violent acts, had been in and out of the criminal justice system since he was a child.  I feel that the parole boards and judges have just as much blood on their hands for releasing these animals, as the criminal themselves, shoot these animals and get it over with and protect the rest of us.

The term 'model inmate' is such a joke and we used to laugh at that. Of course they're model inmates. They don't have much choice when they're locked up and their every move is watched and noted. It's easy to be good when you don't have a choice. So then the 'model inmate' gets out because he fooled the parole board, he goes right back to doing what got him locked up in the first place. He gets busted again and becomes a 'model inmate' again. It's one huge joke and a revolving door. Reply...

Right on SCAT!  But of course we have these bleeding hearts that say, "What if he is innocent?"  Well, he just meets Jesus a little sooner that's all, or maybe the guy with the red suit!  Bottom line all of us will cash in our chips sooner or later, but with this scum it should be sooner. If only "life without parole" actually meant "life without parole".  A sentence like that has become a joke.  If an inmate keeps their nose clean, says all the right things and does all the right things, it seems that some parole boards just can't wait to let them out to walk our streets again.  I think a bullet would be much cheaper in the long run, plus then you're giving business to the executioner, the mortician and the grave digger. Two points:
1. Is life without the possibility of parole more or less desirable than death?

2. You speak of the cost of keeping someone in prison..but the prison buys produce from local farms, and markets. They hire local people. They pump money into the local economy...so it's money well spent..eh?

He has soiled the REAL Mo Gibbs name!

The former Barnes County jailer was convicted last year of killing Valley City State University student Mindy Morgenstern.

They said that someone else's hair and DNA was on the knife used to kill her and that is why they appealed. Sounds like nothing happened with the other DNA. Reply...

Right on SCat....Gibbs is in the ND Pen locked up!  Unfortunately we will pay for many years to keep this A - - - - - - alive, free food, shelter, medical, etc. at approximately $35,000 per year not to mention all the money for his appeals.  He killed an innocent woman, he should be taken out and shot!, over and out, done, Kaput. I think this poster is probably referring to a different Moe Gibbs - the one that is in prison for murdering Mindy Morgenstern in Valley City, North Dakota.  He is a first class, without a doubt - LOSER, LOSER, LOSER.  I hope he never see's the world outside a prison cell. Reply...

Suicide is a self-made decision.  In the original post an assumption is made this person was under the influence of drugs.  From the video/article I did not hear he was under the influence.  Is there other information to suppott this? Do we know this for a fact?  How can responsibility for this death be laid on the feet of others when we do not know all the facts of whether an incorrect decision to place him on suicide watch was made?  Even in the most controlled enviroments or circumstances a person who choses to commit suicide will attempt it.

Abortion - the choice made to terminate the embryo or fetus.

What makes abortion different from murder?  Depends on the belief of when life begins - conception to birth.

Death Penalty - the choice to terminate a life due to a conviction of guilt under the law.

Murder - the choice to terminate a life unlawfully

Suicide - the choice to take one's own life voluntarily

I have ONE account, and this is it.  I'm not the person you responded to earlier in the thread.  You went too far with that comment about killing infants, you know it, and now you're trying to rationalize it.  It is slander because it is defamatory and false.  It's not the first time you've said things about people here which were defamatory and false.  It's not even the tenth time.  Your crass comments about a suicide only show you for the heartless baggage you are. It is not slander, it is fact... you are Pro-choice are  you not? have you not stated that? Then my response was correct.... Pro-life means all life, every single one...... You should absolutley be the last person crying foul, are you kidding me. My big problem with Pro-life is the fact that you cannot both want to save all babies but then be pro death penalty. You cannot have it both ways. This subject however was your outrage about a man who killed himself and now nefariously noted that it could not be possible for him to do this in a jail cell with cameras. I did some fact checking and about 49 people out of 100,000 commit suicide in jail every year. The most violent offenders commit suicide most frequently. Reply...

Fair, I can't believe I'm gonna say this... but I agree totally with your posts. Suicide single handedly lies with the person who does it, no one else. Reply...

He chose to kill himself. Himself, himself, he was killing himself with drugs, killing himself with drugs. KILLING HIMSELF....... HIS parents knew he was KILLING himself... I am sure that they have bailed him out numerous times in their lives.... He made a choice.... You have some sort of sick thought process. You would kill an infant but somehow you are indignant when a convicted mutliple time felon decides to check out. HE WAS NOT KILLED!!!! he KILLED HIMSELF!!!!! I have my own opinion of what his parents must be thinking. I said I feel sorry for any wives, parents, children, brothers and sisters. Reply...

If the jail knew he was a suicide alert, he should have been placed in the medical bay.  Not sure how the facilities are here, but at the jail that I did work at, they had constant watch.  The inmates were each placed in a room with a bed and were watched through a huge window and were checked on every 5 minutes.  As for the cells, they did not have a camera in each one.  Reply...
