I think he should serve at least 5 years for his crime against the taxpayers of ND. He is not above the law,he deserves no mercy. Reply...

People. This is a family. Just like mine, just like yours. Leave the poor people alone. They go through the same stuff as you and I do. Each person in it makes their own choices. I met Jason once and he was a great guy. Happy to be with his family, with the ones who loved him. It has nothing to do with his parents, or who his freakin uncle is. So what that he's Wayne Frickin Stenehjem. That man has his faults too.

And bringing people who had no responsibility into it is just crass. Allan isn't a complete jerk who left his nephew in the dirt. And Allan has his own issues. No need to bring it up on here... just leave well enough alone. He has his own family with their own issues. Wayne has his family (with a great son who did great things for this country). And Bob has his family. Leave these people alone.

Jason made his own choices. Drugs freakin do, do things to people. They change. And sometimes it takes the fact that they have to face the possibility of 55 years to make them realize. Sometimes drugs aren't all bad.

All in all? Leave the family out of it. If he were Jason Smith or Jason Something Else it wouldn't be an issue. It's just because of the last name.

Pbbbbbbbt. Reply...

Oh by the way when this dirtball gets out. He will be back to dealing and USING again... Reply...

America survived countless wars, depression, but I doubt we'll survive the drug war. Far too many government officials are themselves victims, and gladly allow the general public to be victimized. Drugs involve a war of survival. On the one hand, it's a plan to reduce us to a planet of puppets. On the other hand, individuals are left to resist drug addicted leadership, on every level. Define so-called "national security!" A vast majority of railroad employees are dedicated to outlaw bikers! Talk about a drug link! in an instant of time, crime lord rules! Locally, who owns/controls drug traffic, are not those who assume! Need to know what to look for...the tired eyes, sense of hopelessness, fear, age...place self at risk, lives of children, all for the sake of what? profit further from funerals??? About time America grew up! Shove cocaine back up the ass of the sicko's where it belongs! Eliminate all local related "color's! Any remote link to Hell's Angels! Make it known, that if you remotely link, never mind! Carefully avoiding, at times, direct distribution...often hide behind "family" and worse! Spring is a new awakening to cocaine dealers! All the way to GM, Ford, etc! Party is over, all the way to Cheney/Bush! Elimination of a pathetic coorporate license to obvious killers like the Hell's Angels, is very much a done deal! Eliminate drugs from the source! No matter what the thing is...if dirty, no quarter! Reply...

Duh has it right! Some perverse drug dealer doesn't directly sell to kids...only their kids, who distribute! Immediate kids, naturally, rely on alternative drugs, probably very religious! lolol...endless holyness! ALL law enforcement, ALL legislative, ALL judcial...submit to immediate, independent drug screens! NO exceptions! NO exception to cover-up media! At present, I only know of one doctor, not one person in the immediate media, one person in law enfocement, very few in the immediate buisness sector, none in the Catholic Church, prone to child abuse, who might, remotely, pass a blood test! I take into consideration local media rarely exists on a weekend! LOL Reply...

So if a kid shoots up a high school and kills numerous students he should only get a year in prison?! After all it is about the same thing, how many people has Mr Wentz assisted in death due to them buying his drugs? I have no sympathy for him. If he only gets a year then ALL drug dealers should only get a year, right? Believe it or not the select few he sold to are also someones kids! For someone who has kids of his own, all the more reason to not do it, they have suffered through this for ten years. The way you are sticking up for him I would almost guess you have to find a new dealer, this is ridiculous! Reply...

To Duh! If you ever knew Mr. Wentz, you would know that he never sold to kids...why would he do such a thing if he has kids himself. It was even stated at the court hearing that Mr. Wentz only sold to a small amount of people and was VERY selective. I'm not saying that selling drugs is right, but he did it to support his terrible disease. The only thing that scares me is that you people won't give him a chance to get his life back on track. He is serving his time and has already been clean for 13 months, he is taking full responsibility for his actions and is more than willing to clean up. Is that good enough for you people, or must he suffer for the rest of his life? And i also think that you have no right to say whether his family cared for him or not. They are taking this whole period in their lives head on and are trying to stay positive and your judging comments aren't helping....so let the family be and move on with your own lives. Reply...

In a position in which I work with inmates recently released from the NDDOCR incarceration, I have the opportunity to get inmate views on how effective the system is in dealing with prisoners almost on a daily basis. It's interesting, but most of them view prison time in North Dakota as "daycare". One of the most concerning things I hear from prisoners is that sex offenders wear thier convictions like a "badge of honor" at the pen and are constantly protected by the staff from any retaliation by other inmates. While I fell for the family of Wentz, I also know that the disease of addiction can destroy innocent people that get in the path or wake of an addict. Coddling and providing sympathy for the offender will do him/her nothing positive. It is only throgh accepting responsibility of ones actions, and making a profound change in the way one lives does an addict have any chance of recovering from this devastaing disease that kills or destroys lives in a thousand different ways.

A favorite past time for the treatment of addicts by NDDOCR and DHS is to teach addicts to think differently. EBT and COG therapy is the latest insanity that the "mental health professionals" of North Dakota are trying. Sadly it's been proven all over the world that you must teach an addict how to live differently and then he/she will begin to think differently. It is the only proven method o treating an addict that has a track record of success. Our treatment programs here in ND are nothing but a revolving door that adds countless funds to our state agencies. We have to stop coddling these addicts, treat the disease rather than the symptoms, and hold these people accountable for thier actions. Reply...

fossilman - every single time you comment on someone going to prison, it is 'he will get his just. Prisoners don't like his kind'. Why don't you just explain 'what kind' of people prisoners DO like. Reply...

To Keep your thoughts:
C'mon, HIS family? What do think of all the families he has ruined by selling drugs to their kids? How many of those kids had everything going for them and had it yanked out because of drugs. Bottom line is HE IS A CONVICTED DRUG DEALER! Get a grip and stop playing democrat to the rescue! This guys is a scumbag, if his family cared for him so much, why did they not get him help over the ten year period. Reply...

I am convinced that there is alot more to this, I know petty crime gets a lot more serious sentences, a first time offender gets 9 years 5 suspended and that crime was none violent and not harming our children. Reply...

Wow, everyone needs to voice their opinions these days. I bet no one that has posted on the website has every suffered from a serious addiction. I'm not saying that doing drugs is okay, but you have to come to realize the life that some people have had to deal with. You people really need to get involved with your own life and stop worring about what other people are doing. Mr. Wentz had a problem and I do believe that this arrest has been the best thing for him. He is off drugs and is now a more stable human being. Everyone, such as yourselves, have made it almost impossible for a man to get over such a bump in his life. You don't realize that he has a family that loves and cares for him and that all your comments are just tearing their family apart. They have suffered enought with the whole city of Bismarck getting involved in their case and judging them every step of the way. Not only are you hurting Mr. Wentz but you are also effecting his family with your rude and unnecessary remarks. Don't you think they have suffered enough? Reply...

Yes if he had to serve his sentence in the "general public" at prison I think that Mr. Wentz would pay for his crime. But you know what, I bet that he will be treated like a "pampered pup" and will never even have to set foot with the other inmates! Who says that the life of crime dosen't pay? Reply...

These drug dealers must be upper management at WSI. Their is NO WAY else a normal person not employed by WSI could get away with such a crime. The famous North Dakota Mafia is back in action. Boy we sure send good messages to our kids here. Who says crime doesnt pay, right, Mr. Wentz and Mr. Blunt!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reply...
