Marilyn, I live in america where it is legal to carry a rifle,  I carry one with me in the vehicle where ever I go.   For a federal or state employee to tell me I dont have that right to carry a rifel because of a 2 week deer season is not in the decloration or even an amendment.  I didnt mind him checking but I do mind it when they step on my personal rights. Makes me kind of wonder how far a person could take something like this KX. Let's say a truck load like Sneaky described.. all in orange and with rifles. So the warden, in performing his duties, asks them for their license. You really think anyone would buy the "We aren't hunting...we're just being safe"  routine? If he did, he should be fire for ignorance.

I quit deer hunting over 10 years ago and have land off the lost wood game refuge.  I cant walk anymore like I used to.  Instead I like to just go out and drive the back roads or sit on a hill and just watch.  Yesterday i took a dive out to the bridge to see if the fish were biteing.  On the way i noticed movement running along a draw of wet land menangering towards the road, it was a buck and crossed the road in front of me.  His run was similar to a buck and he kept his head so low it made it difficult to tell if it had antlers or not.  I watched it for a ways and saw where he was held up.   I saw deeer hunters all around but none saw that buck.  I like watching them outwit the hunters if they can,  and I have watched big bucks crawl through the grass and come out behind hunters without them knowing.

A Game Warden asked me one day for my license, I had a orange hat on, and a rifle with me.  He told me I was hunting because i had a rifle with and hunter orange.  I told him i carry the orange so if i get out of my pickup for some reason i do not get shot, and I carry a gun especially when everyone else does. THen I asked him what country he was from?  He insisted I had no right to carry a rifle during deer season, then i calmly asked him to get the hell of my land.

Glad you started this topic, 'cause I was going to also!  Yep, shooting from vehicles on highways and back roads is a very common sight this time of year - we've come upon vehicles sitting in the middle of the road, doors all open, nobody in it, off chasing deer.  Last night on my way home from Minot, I met tens of pick-ups, all occupants wearing their blaze orange, heading home from the opening day - which is great, don't get me wrong, my husband is out hunting as I write, BUT, just a reminder to any hunters out there...................whatever you brought with you in your vehicle when you left town - take it all back with you when you go back to town, your fast food bags, pop cans, beer cans, used kleenex's , ALL your garbage.  We live out here all year, you're here for a day or a week or two and it becomes your personal garbage dump?  Have some respect for landowners, don't trespass, get permission to enter posted land, don't open cattle gates without permission, etc. etc. etc.  I'm glad to see the deer population reduced, but please don't forget to be responsible for yourself while your'e hunting. In Article: Cass Sunstein confirmed as "regulatory czar"
You're missing the point:

You have every right to castigate Sunstein....but people like Willy and S.G.who are absolutely paranoid. Who see LIBRULS under their beds and in their closets...WANT to think that Obama is after their Guns..Money, Religion, whatever...they are so  brainwashed by right wing fearmongering, that they're willing to believe ANYTHING their mothership tells them..

Obama..meanwhile..has STAYED  OUT of the gun control issue.
He made one statement, after the supreme court's decision on the 2nd amendment...that he supported it..and has remained silent since then...

but Wayne La Pierre...a REAL MANIAC..who wants the mice following him, to believe he's fighting against gun control...has INSTILLED FEAR in the lemmings...as they march in lockstep behind him.

EVERY GUN COMPANY in the US today, hopes for Obama's re election...Business has never been this good for them.
There's even a company which has a patent on some kind of ammo numbering system...pushing the idea that Obama wants to limit the amount of ammo you can buy...so what happens? The wingbats run out and buy every bullet they can find..
it's absolutely mind boggling, what fearmongering can do to those who swallow that crap...

But I'll bet you Willy BELIEVES EVERY WORD THEY SAY...

Who cares what you want at this point in time 37?  The fact is Cass Sunstein has some radical ideas, and his own pathetic statements back me up:

"We ought to ban hunting"

- Cass Sunstein, in a 2007 speech at Harvard University

"[A]lmost all gun control legislation is constitutionally fine. And if the Court is right, then fundamentalism does not justify the view that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to bear arms. "

- Cass Sunstein, writing in his book, "Radicals in Robes"

"Animals should be permitted to bring suit, with human beings as their representatives …"

- 2004 book Animal Rights: Current Debates and New Directions

So, if you're not familiar with the "biz-czar" Sunstein, do a bit of research on this guy.  It is readily available and he doesn't deny these things, that he wants animals to have representation and be able to sue people.  And he is definitely anti-gun, anti-hunting.  And, yes, Dorgan and Conrad voted for this nut.  Once again, they are showing us their true colors.  It's time for our fine delegation to find different employment and I'll be glad to help them make that first step out of their Senate offices.
