Discover magazine was launched by Time Inc and later purchased by Disney (Mickey Mouse outfit), both are mainstream media. Rather than rely on a single source for information, it might be best to reference others before forming an opinion. Try this link and let me know if you still believe the Global Warming Hype.

I think good health care will come until we realize what are those unhealthy foods we intake. Good diet will do.We're paying more these days not only at the gas pump but also at the grocery store. Blame it on rising oil prices, disappointing crop yields, global warming, and/or the weak dollar.Planning ahead is the most important step to getting more bang for your buck at the grocery store,.Eating healthier foods can actually save you money and health against possible diseases. The researchers found that when families went on weight loss diets, they not only lost weight but reduced their food budgets.Learn how to control spending. It helps minimize the possibility og getting personal loans.

Okay it's time to stop drinking the Kook-Aide of mass media, politics, and general ignorance.

Let me explain what discover magazine taught me over ten years ago about what affects global warming will have.

-The melting ice is creating a layer of fresh water over the denser salt water.
-Like lake water, ocean water flips bottom to top, bringing cold water to the surface. However, now the fresh water stays on top, so instead of bringing water up from the ocean floor, it brings it up from the, warmer, bottom of the fresh water layer. This makes ocean temperatures warmer.
-Warmer ocean temperatures cause the jet stream to drop, bringing with it, cooler Northern air.

That means, similar to the movie "The Day After Tomorrow", global warming will actually make much of the world a lot colder, especially the Central Northern US states.

Also, the sound, non-political driven, non-attention craving, science will tell you while we've had warming trends in the past, they've never happened so fast. Again, this is old news, over ten years ago Discover also reported that at the rate of rising ocean temperatures the coral reefs will likely die in 20 years, not because they haven't adapted to temperature changes in the past, but because natural selection shapes evolution over many generations which the slower warming and cooling periods allowed to happen.

Of course, the ice shelves have melted and froze in the past, but according to real life scientist who's been studying the ice shelves, NEVER have BOTH deteriorated at the SAME TIME.

So, when a person sees an unseasonably cool, or warm, day and wants to use it to qualify, or disqualify global warming, they really aren't using their brains from much more than political talk show fodder. It's unscientific, and most of all, indicative of a complacent society who lets their TV, radio, gossip magazines, and government do the thinking for them.

Well, this is a real opportunity for Al and Tipper Gore, must be time to start the GLOBAL COOLING FOUNDATION and start a new fund that invests in companies that will keep the globe WARM rather than cool.......including restarting companies that are going out of business in Maine, Minnesota and Michigan which make WARM clothes and BIG cars that can slough through the snow? We can start a new bill in Congress..."Cap and Trod" which is a wool cap and sturdy boots to get us through the snow. Etc. The media has now proved itself completely stupid...we have been cooling it for eight years. Yeeeeeeeeeeeech. Reply...

My family LOVES Bessy's Best, but the Burleigh County WIC program will not 'allow' it .... according to WIC is it because it doesn't contain enough of a certain 'ingredient".... umm hello?!?!? It comes straight from the cow...what are they adding to the WIC allowable milk???

I just wish that the WIC program would allow even us who need a little bit of help to be able to support our local farms and farmers...it isn't any more expensive then any other milk in the store... Reply...

Ouch, this is bad timing;

http://www.thedickinsonpress.com/articles/index.cfm?id=16977§ion=news

A bunch of DSU athletes involved in a huge brawl. Then the losing side breaks into a home for revenge. When do the guns start coming out? Thanks for keeping our community safe, DSU. I'm glad you are more concerned about recruiting these "athletes" from south central LA so you can win division titles rather than recruit decent kids willing to work hard AND BE THANKFUL for an education (a free one at that).

SCREW YOUR STADIUM. My mind is made up. You've adulterated this community enough with your criminal athletes. Giving them a $16 mil stadium is a slap in the face to the community. You've raised $10 mil, that's plenty. Build your damn stadium. Keep my money out of your criminal enterprise. Reply...

I think that if the college quit recruiting drug dealers for athletes, then maybe I would be behind the project. It's no secret that DAC 10 gets the NCAA leftovers and don't even do a background check. I'm stil paying on my student loans, and these "athletes" get a free ride for bringing drugs to our town?

Once the college actually starts recruiting local talent again, then I will be behind everything they do. STOP RECRUITING CRIMINALS!! Its embarassing to the community. Reply...

In Article: UTVs may be allowed on Dickinson streets
So what you are saying is that only certain vehicles should be allowed to drive on city roads? So I guess motorcycles are out since there's no protection there..what else? How sad is it that someone would talk about "thinning the herd of hippie tree huggers" when all some people want to do is save money on gas!! Hell, if I could drive something like that the 15 miles to school each day I would. As for crashes, there's no guarantee that I'm gonna live if a SUV slams into me, so should the state or cities limit my driving? Reply...

All fine and dandy until one of these get into/cause an accident. Roll bar ain't gonna mean crap when an SUV plows into the side of you. Then, of course, it would be the city's fault for allowing it and probably get sued. Stupid idea. Not safe until all vehicles are UTVs. But then again, maybe we need to thin the herd of all these hippie, ultra-green tree huggers. Reply...
