Pets you sound like one of my coworkers..I bet if she found a baby elephant wondering around, she would keep it as a pet lol. Another one of my friends lived at a ducks unlimited farm in Texas n she kept all sorts of animals..emu, ducks, calf, deer, dogs, cats..it was so beautiful out there! They lived out in the desert and their swimming pool was on a ledge so when you look out, all you see is desert and cactus, there were palm trees all over the place..it was like i was on a vacation n I was only 2 miles from my home! I don't think its that we care more for animals than people, but that animals are pretty much helpless and at the mercy of humans. They don't have a voice unless we step up and speak for them. Humans are okay, some of them....but oh man they do alot of foolish and cruel things. Your dog will be faithful to you, no matter what, and they don't care how you look, if you're rich or poor and they even allow you to treat them poorly while they still give you 100% devotion. Can't say that about alot of humans. Reply...

I bought 6 ducklings this spring at TSC.  They were selling them as fast as they could get them in.  For some reason, ducks were the big thing this spring.  Anyways, we kept them in a little pen and fed them good until they finally got their adult feathers, and yesterday, we finally took them out to our little pasture with the pond we made and turned them loose with the goat and the donkey.  This morning my husband went out to check on them and they were all dead.  Killed by an owl, my husband says because their heads were ripped off, and I guess that's how owls kill bigger birds.  I feel really bad.  But, not bad enough to want to shoot the owl.  That owl was just doing what owls do.  Now we have no geese and no ducks.  Our geese never came back from last winter.  We found a goose nest 3 weeks ago and incubated the eggs, and only one hatched.  One little goose is all we have. (We call him Lonesome George).  I don't know what to do with him.  I'm scared to put him out there where we had the ducks when he's old enough.  Guess we'll just have to keep him penned up with the chickens.

Anyway, I guess my point here is, as bad as I feel about what happened to the ducks, I have no desire to get the owl.  Nature does what nature does.   I thought the donkey would protect the ducks, but I guess not against an owl.  Gotta figure out a better way next time, I guess.

It would be a boring world if all people were the same and did the same things, don't you think.........I'm the other side of the coin,I like and have critters and fish on my walls in my house......Its all a matter of opinion, everyone has one and we should and need to respect that.....I myself enjoyed the article to a certain extent.I don't like shooting zebras, girrafes and animals of that sort,I don't even hunt ducks or geese, because I don't eat the meat.....There are some varmints I shoot, some I don't.........Like I said "Each to his or her own".I respect that......... Thoughts... was that reference to Karma about the fishermen  in anyway connected to our discussions about Mr. Tiller that keep getting deleted?   Just wondering.  Reply...

Pets, Marilyn is right...you have absolutely nothing to be ashamed about.  But, just be prepared, because you WILL get comments from people who get infuriated with those who care more for animals than humans, as well as those who enjoy trophy hunting.

I'm like you when it comes to animals. It kills me how they get treated.  But karma is just around the corner...maybe those French fishermen will get attacked by a shark?  We can cry all we want and have PETA be as violent as can be, but the reality is that the mistreatment of animals will never end because they are considered just that...animals.

Pets,  I would never have trophies hanging on my wall either, never ever.  But my dad has about  12 Antler sets, and at least 2 taxadermied deer heads with huge antlers.   Its ok for him,  they eat all the meat.   I just would never kill to have a trophy.

Don't eat meats in other countries!   period.. stick with veggies or salads..yuk yuk yuk.

The  Chinese/ japanese that come to America still eat that stuff.  My husband built 3 Chinese restaruants and became good friends with the people that owned them.   Once he went into the back room at  off hours and  he saw them eating some kind of meat.   They quickly put it away and said you wouldn't want this.... it was probably dog or  cat or something strange.... true..  Just my guess, don't hold me too it.. :)

Whats wrong with making dog food with  beaks, or feet or whatever?   Its dog food....

There's a picture at that site I linked to, of a dog that was rescued. He looks okay, but the hooks are enormous! I think most people don't realize what's in dogfood. Everything from beaks to feet to entrails. Gross. I also saw a video once where they were bleeding out live German Shepherds and then serving the dogmeat in a food joint. This was in Asia someplace. They're pretty gross when it comes to their food sources. But...I think everyone should know the truth about what goes on, then it would be easier to put a halt to these things. Ignorance is NOT bliss. Reply...

I made it through to the part about bait - can't go farther.  I once researched what is in cat and dog food................wish I had never done that.  It led me to a site that showed people over in some Asian country with cats chained up, waiting to go into a huge vat for cooking - for human consumption.. I can't get that out of my head, so - sorry, can't read about the dogs, 'cause I wouldn't get it out of my brain.  Reply...

Pets, you owe nothing to anyone. You have to be true to yourself and forget about being anything for someone else. I can't stand to see frogs used for bait either. It just p*sses me off to the max. I quit fishing as well when I read stats on catch and release. The majority of released fish die...so we are fishing for entertainment and not necessity. I'm very firm in my beliefs and won't change them for anyone. I have to live with my conscience..... Reply...

That's terrible to use dogs as bait.  I can't even read about that.  As a matter of fact, I was out fishing one time, and the people I was with were using frogs as bait for bass.  They were trolling and those frogs looked like little people being dragged behind the boat on hooks.  It just freaked me out.  I know, frogs are just frogs, but it literally made me kinda sick.  I have even quit fishing.  It makes me feel creepy when you take them off the hook and you sometimes feel them quiver.  I know, I might be a little kooky when it comes to living things, but I honestly can't help it.  Feeling the way I do doesn't hurt anyone, does it?  I'm not trying to stop other people from doing what they do, but I can't help expressing my feelings about certain things.

And, Jose, I am not moving  back to St. Paul anytime in the near future.  Maybe someday, but not yet.  When I do, it will be my own decision.  OK?

Read this article about live dogs being used for shark bait in France. Yes, they have hooks put through their snouts and front legs and are drug behind boats by the mighty white hunters. (Oh look at me, I am the mighty hunter... I torture live dogs by using them for shark bait) Now I bet this stupid link won't work, so you'll have to copy and paste - http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/sharkbait.asp Reply...

I don't care for trophy hunting either pets...but as you well know, I am a huge defender of animals and humans who have no voice. That's how we're cut and it's not going to change. It's part of our personality and our buds just have to accept it and we have to embrace it. Keep doing what you're doing, because in the end, you stand before God all by yourself, with all your buds off somewhere else. Reply...
