The murders happened in the Willey home, which is near Sykeston and Carrington. Devils Lake is a change of venue, for several reasons, and is over an hour away from the location of the incident. Nothing new has been publicized with this case. The trial is slated for mid-March and they will both be tried together. I will try to update if/when information becomes available. Reply...
Is Devils Lake near where the murders happened? Will this just be a change of venue? Sorry I'm from the southern US and not sure of these towns..Thanks for the updates. Reply...
March 12, 2008 in Devils Lake court house. Reply...
The trial will be in Devils Lake, in March I believe. Reply...
The last we heard is that they are planning to have the jury selection and trial for Aron and Tammy (together) in January or February...Location unknown at this time. There is no news on a day to day basis. Reply...
I don't get the news, could you please update here, if you hear anything. Thank you so much Reply...
They have decided to have the trials together. No idea when or where though. Reply...
Is there anything new happening on this case? I don't live in the area, so I don't hear any news. Thanks Reply...
To clarify a few things. First, don't believe everything as you read it in the paper. They get their details mixed up quite often. The note: "the wrath of God is coming down on Don and Alice..." was written by Tammy, quoting her mother Karen Christensen. Don and Alice were seeking visitation, not custody of their grandchild. And just because someone is an executor on a trust for a minor, does NOT mean they have access to the money, as in this case. Their role is simply to oversee that the money is handled properly. Tammy was given a place to live with this money and living expenses, which were to be used for the welfare of Nicole's upbringing. We won't comment on the children at this time, but we thank you for your prayers. Reply...
Thanks for clearing that up. Since you are a relative, can you say how the children are doing? My prayers are with them and with all of those affected by t his tragedy. Reply...
They were requesting visitation not custody, the news has had it wrong. Reply...
Didn't a handwritting expert state that the note/map was written by Tammy? what ever started the fight for custody? normally grandparents can get visitation rights, but not normally custody? Reply...
Just wondering if anyone has looked at Tammara's mother as the one who wrote the floorplan of the Willey's home. I know that she had spent some time there while Tammara was dating the Willey's son Anderew. It was also very aparent to all those who knew the familys that her mother despised the Willeys and would do anything to keep them form seeing there granddaughter. Reply...
Children need to know all of their family members, the good, the bad and the ugly. If they are brought up with love and respect and faith in God they will make the right decisions in their lives. Even if Tammy and Aron are found guilty, Nichole should be told only the facts in a manner that a child can understand, and she should know that her parents loved her no matter what. If she's told her mother is evil, she may believe that she had something to do with it and that she is evil also. May God watch over her and may her life be filled with happiness. Reply...
Angry speculation doesn't help the case at all and the evidence will determine weather Aaron and Tammy will be brought to justice. I am too close to the situation to comment against the two people who, in my mind, are guilty. Therefore I will wait until court.
Concerning Nichole - my deepest prayer for her is that God will bring her peace and healing because that kid has had a tough life. She's been through things no little one should have to go through. I cannot say weather she should be given over to the custody of her aunts and uncle on the Willey side, or if she should be put in the home of a neutral party. At this time, considering things I know about Tammara and the way she related with and treated Alice and Don, I'm going to say her Sorenson grandparents aren't the most ideal choice of foster parents at this time.
I DO hope, however, that Nichole will NOT be cut off from any family as long as they have her best interests at heart and work at getting her the counseling and support she will need in order to process everything that has occurred concerning her mother and her father's parents.
God Bless,

Is anyone sure they weren't involved in this plot? Look at the details. Weren't they at the funeral too and the hearing? I heard that they were buddy buddy with the killer. Does anybody really know them well enough to say they weren't involved? Reply...
Can you explain? From a personal experience I am easily angered when family members are not given visitation. God will find Nicole the proper home and may she be blessed with visitation with all of her family members. Reply...
Because of things that have happened in the past with the Willeys and her family as well. Reply...
Angry Grandma, I sure hope you lived up to your parents expectations and were a perfect child and that you raised your children to be perfect as they are raising their children. Why should Tammy's family have no contact (with Nichole)? Did they do something to the Willey's? I met Tammy once years ago and found her to be a manipulative and controlling person, if she didn't pull the trigger I'm sure she was standing close by. I never met her family but I doubt they would agree with what she did. I know that my children are not perfect, but I will always love them unconditionally no matter what they do, and if they were to do something as bad as murder (innocent until proven guilty right), it doesn't mean that I will stop loving them but they will deserve whatever punishment that they receive. Does that make me a bad parent? Does that mean I shouldn't ever see my grandchild again or that she should be kept away from all family members? The state is suppose to act in the best interest of the child, yet the state is the one that gave Nicole back to her mother and then took her away again. Where ever she is, I hope God is watching out for her and she will become a stronger person for all the things she has gone through in her young life. Reply...
