Senator Conrad's largest campaign contributor over the last five years is the Davita Corporation, a nationwide health care service provider. You don't suppose all his rhetoric about co-ops is really just about kissing up to Davita's lobby and securing his campaign contributions for the next election? I'm sure Davita would prefer to compete with a feeble co-op system rather than a substantial public adversary. Reply...

Whaaaaaaaaaaaa!! So cry us a river. If you do not like someone and they fought you all the time why are you whining about them leaving? What a dummy! Typical farmer, nothing is ever good enough. Too wet, too dry, too hot , too cold, no matter what they have to complain about something.

Maybe the farm bill should read plant what you want how you want and do not look for a handout if your gamble does not pay off! Reply...

Well thanks for the tirade but.... Your a moron. Make sure you know your logistics before trying to insult somebody. Hazen is alot closer to Bismarck than Dickinson so how many sports or news people Dickinson has is not even a factor. As far as you not being from Bowman, Maybe you should read all the comments posted, I was responding to more than you "knower of all knowlege". And apparently you are worng because I am now going to give credit where credit is deserved, THANK YOU to the KX NEWS TEAM!! The game last night in Beulah was awesome. A seven point game between the Miners and the Bison was even closer than the score shows. The game was played like it was a state title game with close to 2000 people in attendance!!! I had Beulah people tell me that they cannot remember when the gym was that loud and electric before. AND KX NEWS WAS THERE!!! Great news piece on the 9 news. I stated before that the Killdeer game in Hazen was the best I has seen in years, but now this. It was the first time these two teams had met in SEVEN years!! I can tell you it was one for the ages!!! As for the rest of the comments posted on this topic, I thank ALL of you for the intrest in this subject, but this will be the last entry I make on this one, now.... on with our lives. Reply...

How many people do you actucally think work at the station in Dickinson? Espically in sports? I'm sure you already know this, but I'm going to insult your intelligence anyway: There is no news room in Dickinson, it's in Bismarck. Most of the people at the Williston and Dickinson stations are sales people or production people. There might be one in news/sports which makes it impossible to get every where in a three hour period. Pay attention, nobody said anything about sending the "actucal sports person" there is NOT an endless list of people that work at the TV station that can go out and shoot footage. Although you probably think that local TV stations live the high life of champainge and wine that is not the case, the budgets are small and tight. Which means the main stations, Minot and Bismarck, have only a two or three people that are considered camera people. There is no vendetta or anything against towns such as Beulah or Hazen, but lets be honest they are not major metropolitan areas which makes it hard for broadcast in a timely matter. Trust me, the stations try as hard as they can to get to towns that further from the stations to "get some footage and get home," but think about sometimes it's easier said than done. By the way I'm not from Bowman, I'm from Watford. In recent hisotory we've had some great FB teams, with almost no TV coverage. Reply...

Well there you have it. You two that are making excusses for the TV stations are the problem!!!! And YES, if trinity was up here in beulah or Hazen you can be DARN sure there would have been cameras there. AND WEATHER!! give me a break!! If the weather is the BIG FACTOR!!!! IF it was that bad out do you think the Schools would allow the teams to go to the games in a bus. I am a licenced school bus driver and if you can get there in a bus you can dang sure get there in a van or station wagon or the 4WD SUV'S that the stations have now!! Who do you think your tryin to pull the wool over the eyes of! And distance is no problem either. Yo do not send the actuall SPorts ANCHOR! DUH! I have seen the person shooting footage in Dickinson before, Its the Schnider gal, She is barely a news person let alone a sports person. You just send some camera guy up here and get some footage and get him home. Charter a plane, WOW I can only imagine who from my home town wrote this. Bowman, of all towns should be mad as @#&$. You have one of the best girls teams in the state this year and what have you seen for coverage of your town and team, Exactly!! Reply...

Don't forget that weather plays a big part in where the TV stations travel to. Most stations just have a station wagon or van for a news car. If it's there's too much snow or too cold a camera person will probably not travel long distances. And distance does play a big part; espically on weeknights. Usually the camera person has duties during the early evening news, which means they can't leave until the news is over, 6:30 or so. Which makes getting back in time for the 10:00 pm news difficult. When I was a camera person in ND I did everything I could to get as many highlights as possible but sometimes it just doesn't workout. And the one post is correct if you want to see a score on TV just call. Make sure you tell the station who you are and where you're calling from. It's also good to give the Associated Press a call, as they send score updates on the wire from around the state as soon they recieve them. Reply...

The distance thing is not an issue, both KXMB & KFYR have been to Beulah and Hazen in the distant past. They don't have to tape the full game, they just tape some of the first & second quarter to show when they give the scores. I'm with Jesse on this one, if Trinity came to either Beulah or Hazen both networks would be in town! Reply...

Jesse you should know why there was no coverage coming from Bowman. Hazen and Killdeer are stuck in an area like that of so many other schools in the state. Far enough away from cities that have Nightly News that they can't get there and back in time for newstime. As far as no mention of the game, maybe call the TV stations and let them know what the score is. That always helps. I know where you're coming from but there isn't much that can be done to overcome distance short of chartering private planes and I doubt there's a TV station in the state that's going to budget that in. I find it really hard to understand why, when Hazen is #1 and Killdeer is #2, we still do not get news coverage. Killdeer was in Hazen tonight, thats #1 against #2, and nothing was mentioned tonight in the news other than the final score, like it was an Elgin-Belfield girls game of no importance!

I would really like to have this explained to me why it has to be Dickinson Trinity Titans or Washburn Cardinals for anything to get covered west of the Missouri? We have three of the top 5 teams within 50 miles and two of them 8 miles apart in Beulah and Hazen, and still no cameras?
I'm going to have to call bull on this. Reply...
