PrarieFire.   I know you are not racist, and like me you are very Unpolitically correct.   I love your posts.   Of course you say some things that make the hair stand up on the back of my neck (haha), but you have a good heart,  and you are going to beat this disease.... Just keep fighting.

Marilyn.... Praire is fine,   really.  You are blaming her for things that the comedians say on a daily basis,  that Biden has said about a nationality.    So... .....  .......

Prairie, my name is spelled M A R I L Y N. Maybe you'd be better off if that woman hadn't been there at all. Like I said, if CPR is done correctly, ribs are usually broken...so that means there will be bruising. Quit complaining about having your life saved. Count your blessings, alot of people don't survive heart attacks. Reply...

Prairie, if I were you, I'd speak a little more kindly 0f  the 'dumazz' woman who saved your life by giving you a JUMP START. That's how you start someone's heart back up....by hitting the chest as hard as you can with both hands together in a big fist..it's quicker than the paddles and probably less traumatic on you. Count your lucky stars and send her a THANK YOU note....

We were taught that if you had no other alternative, to use your feet....and this was taught to us be a certified instructor. Done correctly, CPR will break some ribs.

In the early 80's...I lived in a front apartment first floor.  I was on the phone, smoking a cig...the 2 young girls from the back first floor apt., came over saying they could smell gas.  I hung up the phone put out the cig.  We went back to their apt...I had them stay at the door.  When I got to the kitchen I could smell what I thought was gas/propane...being only 18 though I wasn't sure what to do.  I looked behind the stove and noticed a pipe shaking a bit...strong odor.  I split fast...got the girls outside near the road...went to my apt called the FD...explained what I thought was going on...I realized then that their stove was electric...which made no sense to me... Being only 18 and niave I called the FD back and told them the stove was electric.  It didn't matter the FD was around the corner along with every volunteer in town.  Come to find out a gas company had been by earlier and filled, the wrong tank or what ever...which wasn't shut off in the house...all day that gas leaked into the apartment...Shortly after the incident the mother came home from work...smoking a cigarette.  We all had headaches for a day after.  Thank god that was all that happened.  I thank god that those girls knew enough to come get me and that I was home...ever since I have a slight fear of bbq's and propane tanks... This is a story about my parents an sister.

20 some years ago, it was raining cats and dogs.  LoL  The night was very dark.  No moon.  My parents were on the way to Minot and got to Logan on highway 52.  My Mom was driving.  Coming from the front was a car that started to swerve over into her lane.  She could not stop.  The oncoming car had hydroplaned and was out of control.  Just as the collision happened, Mom saw who was in the other car.  My sister.  At that moment she shouted God help us!  It is Janie.  They were all driving at highway speeds.  55 at that time, and beleive it or not, all walked away.  Bruised, stiff and sore, but okay none the less.  Mom had a cut on her head from the rear veiw mirror and Dad had a couple of very sore knees from hitting the dash.  They all had their seat belts on and the officer said it more then likely saved their lives.  My sister was okay but stiff and sore too.  Both cars were totaled and it was a miracle to me and answered prayer.  I could have had my entire family gone in a split second.   When they called me from the hospital to come get them all I was just a basket case from the thought of my entire family in an accident like that.  They are all gone now anyway, but at least I had them for a few more years.

Back in the 70's when we lived in Denver, late one night we were out on I-25, going somewhere...don't remember where, but it was pouring rain, we had bad tires, ( young and broke) we hydroplaned, the car spun out and stopped in the far right (slow) lane, crossways, with my side facing oncoming traffic. I was 8 mos pregnant and all I could see in the black night was all these headlights coming at me. The engine had died when we spun out, but hubby was able to restart it and pulled ahead into the median just enough to avoid getting whacked by all those cars. Scared the beejeebees out of me! Now I get real uptight when we drive on freeways in the rain! Hubby coasts along at 70+ and doesn't bat an eye and I'm sitting there gritting my teeth!

Three times in my life I have had a feeling that the furnace wasn't working right, and each time I was right, and odorless gas was leaking into the house. The last time was just 2 years ago. I told hubby something wasn't right in the house and maybe it was the furnace. He said it was fine, but I still felt leery of it. He went out of town that day and I called the gas company. They sent someone right out and the guy used that little meter to measure how much gas was leaking from the furnace. I can"t remember now the numbers he used, something about so many millions parts to one, etc...anyway, he shut the furnace down immediately and said if I had gone to bed that night with the furnace leaking like it was, I probably would have died. Now I don't really know why I can sense something like that, but I'm really sensitive to anything in the environment. I also can feel my blood pressure go up, and supposedly you aren't supposed to be able to sense that, thus it's called a silent disease if you have high bp on a regular basis. The doctor said it's because I have dyslexia, and dyslexics are more in tune to things like this, changes in the atmosphere, people's moods, etc. (I didn't make it up..check the Internet) So I'm glad I sensed a bad furnace three times now and hope the furnace stays good for a long time!

This is an interesting thread, and I would say that if a person is going to add something to it, then add something constructive that you want to share, and if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. As my daddy always said, "It's better to sit there and look stupid, than say something and remove all doubt."

Good thread all around!

Who really knows Neon.   I just love giving my posts "eye catching" titles.   It got you interested didn't it?

Anyway.   those two cars could have smacked into me and hubby instead of each other.... seconds from death, you never know.

Another question.. What do any of you really really want to do and haven't done (keep it clean here),  and why haven't you done it yet?

Rider,  great come back...You da man..
