In Article: First Case of H1N1 found in a house cat from Iowa
I have heard of people being treated for Strep throat, then getting sick with it over and over, until finally they found out that the family dog had it too and hadn't been treated.

I wonder if this H1N1 cat case started with the cat or with the humans in the house first?

Well this could be good actually if this H1N1 starts moving back into animals we could soon be done with it. That said this could as be potenially dangerous because it could pick up harmful traits inside the felines and other animals. None the less tho it is interesting that the cat got it. Reply...

In Article: Swine Flu Put Many Hospitalized Patients Into ICU

I went through all these questions in 1976 with the bird flu.  I remember i said it felt kinda tickley like feathers.  The fact is i dont know if i got the bird flu and have had many bouts with the flu since.  The bird flu vaccine killed more people than the flu killed.  But again the swine flu or any flu if you have underlieing problems can kill you and the reg flu has killed thousands.  It is not the Bubonic plague.  The chances of you dieing from this vaccination is less than you dieing in a car accident today.

Bottom line is if you have health problems already you need to decide what you want to do.  Those who do not have underlieing health problems I do not believe you have anything to worry about other than being sick a few days.

It is important not to blow this out of proportion.  The news is doing that.  The fact remains we all stand a better chance of dieing by a accidental cause than we stand of dieing from this vaccination.

life is a risk so is catching the flue and there is risk in prevention.

I have waaay to many questions about the H1N1 virus itself, let alone the vaccine that has been rushed through, tested very little and pretty much crammed down our throats - to line up to get my arm poked.

Since this virus emerged, how much research has been done to try and find out why this is so deadly to the otherwise young and healthy population?  If it has been researched, why hasn't the research been publicized?

Why are some medical professionals refusing to get the vaccine for themselves and their families?

How can states give stats on the number of "confirmed cases" of H1N1, when this past spring, the state health dept. in North Dakota said they were stopping testing for people who presented with H1N1 symptoms, because there were too many to test?  Where are the numbers coming from?  If a doc. wants to hand me a diagnosis of a virus or disease, I want more than their educated guess based on symptoms I present in their exam, I want to be tested to rule out another problem, or perhaps, an underlying problem before I receive treatment for something I have not been tested for.

Good Morning everyone, I love the Host Fest, I work every year for Minot Catholic Schools with the carts, I love Bubba Burgers. I thought they had Indian Tacos at the Host Fest, I know they have some kind of tacos at the Host Fest in one of the halls. I don’t usually go to the fair, I don’t really have any friends that go, Sneaky cat you want to go with me?  Sneaky have you ever gone to Greek Festival they have at the Holiday Inn every year, it is very low key and not advertized like the Fair, but the Baklava is amazing. I didn’t know there were so many Greeks in the area, it is fun.  I am kindda a sad person for friends, being retired military and only living here eight years it has been hard to make friends. My husband’s church is mostly people over the age of 70, I have one friend Alice she does the soup kitchen with me. She doesn’t go to the Fair. Anyone need a friend to go to the Fair?

Sorry Sneaky, I don't work today.  If you come in, I am the one with med dark longer hair.  (not that my hair is long just much longer then the other lady whose hair is shorter then most mens)  There is a younger lady too but I am not her.  I am one of the two older ladies.  (57)

If you do come to our stand, just tell me you post on the KX site and I will know your posting name.  Please come and say hi if you can.  Not today though.  I go in at 11:00 the rest of the week till about 5:30 or so.

Anyone going to the fair today?  I am going June Berry picking this morning - then on to the fair.  Curly are you working today?  You have probably already answered that ? - but I can't remember!  I will be at the fair sometime this afternoon.  I will be wearing blue jeans, a white v-neck tee, a red hooded sweatshirt that says "Guard" on the back in white letters, carrying a black backpack - no tattoos tho................... (yet ). Might have to shed the sweatshirt if it hits above 72 degrees.

Was it Neon that asked about the Baklava?  Anyway, that stuff is wonderful - it is super sweet tho - best to have a sip of coffee with it.

Hope I run into some of you today!

And Curly, if I come to your stand, do I ask for Curly? Reply...

I LOVE the Host Fest! I want to come to this one, but don't think we can make it this year. I was there 3 years ago. It's so much fun! We rented a car from Joe's Rent A Wreck so we could get around town. I actually got LOST trying to find WalMart - South Minot has changed so much! Reply...

Sorry Theresa,

I did not see your question.  To my knowledge nobody make Indian Tacos at the Hostfest.  Sorry.  I work in what they call Coppenhagen hall.  I work at Bubba's burgers for Hostfest.  The intensity of the line for food is almost inhuman.  Hours on my feet, no break in theline for hours on end.  don't even have time to go to the bathroom most of the time, but don't drink anything either so I guess it is okay.  Seems to work out LOL

Rye,

If you look back to the first post in this topic.  My booth is not making Indian fry bread tacos this year because the fire department decided at the last min. that we did not have enough ventilation for the deep fryer.  So you can't get one from a local vender to my knwoledge.  We are in the commercial II building by the East enterence and by the go karts and mini golf.  Our booth is way to the back corner of the building.

We have tacos in a bag and cheeseburgers hamburgers and hot dogs and polish.

It is a sad thing too because ours were better and cheaper then they are on the midway.. Ours were 5.00 last year and they were big and fresh.  Midway smaller and 7.50.

Oh well gov. at its finest.  could have let the people in charge much earlier.  oh well, maybe next year!!

Curley I have asked before, and I missed it. Do you do the Indian Tacos at the Host Fest? I wish I could go to the fair, I am sick. Does anyone know if wal-mart is crazy busy today?
