In Article: ND Pharmacy Law Upheld

This is utter BS and everyone knows it. If we are to have freedom to where we want to shop, who are the pharmacies in ND to say we CAN'T get them where we want to buy them?

If people that can afford the prices they are being charged at their local pharmacy, well more power to them. No one will stop them.

Now tell me this, are the rest of the pharmacies in the United States suffering because people can get their prescriptions at Walmart or Kmart or wherever? NO, everyone is doing business as usual and there are no mom and pop pharmacies suffering.

Why should people that can't afford some of their prescriptions here in ND have to choose between buying their medicine or buying groceries for their family?

No one should say that "your local pharmacist" helps you and treats you better than a big corporation Walmart pharmacy. That is simply not true and you all know that. A pharmacist will help you whether you are at Walmart OR White Drug.

But we all know why the bill didn't pass, it was in the Minot Daily Newspaper. Thrifty White Drug is a big corporation I know in ND and Minnesota for sure, I think SD too, but it was noted in the minot paper that if Thrifty White Drug employees didn't vote against it or get others to vote against it, they wouldn't get anymore wage increases.

Wow, NOW That is the American Way.

It is a sad sad day for the insurance department keeping Adam Hamm in office. I hope he doesn't kick out all of ND's insurance companies and force the people of ND to go to other states to find good insurance since he's trying to put the ND companies out of business! Reply...

Republicans want to open insurance options so that customers have more choice. Who's fighting that? Democrats who want to make the government the sole provider.

Duane has my vote as well.  I agree we need to get the 3 amigos out of office.  And Iam also voting for Tim Mathern. Hoeven needs to go as well along with his Good ol Boys.  Why even have an election for govenor. He has it wrapped up. The only time you hear anything out of Hoeven is at election time.  He is nothing more than a phony.   well at least one of Hoeven's good ol boys will be out. And that will be Adam Hamm Insurance Commissoner.  Cause Jasper Schneider is tearing up the poles.   SAND,MATHERN AND SCHNEIDER.  3 names that will make BIG CHANGE FOR ND! Reply...

Fargo is critical for Duane Sand. If you believe Sand should replace Pomeroy, do your part and talk to people. Get some campaign signs and place them wherever you can, especially in Cass County.

On November 4th, we need to get out in large numbers and vote for Duane Sand!

Awesome.  One at a time.  One at a time.  If Duane has your vote, start working on your friends and family.  I think when they see he is for low taxes, cheap gas, and is willing to take on both parties, they will see they have a candidate they can be proud of.  We can make history.  Pomeroy inherited his job from one of the other two and they have a stranglehold on North Dakota.  We can change it.  Let's make a change.  Reply...

I agree.  You are a smart person.  Let's start with Pomeroy and go down the list.  Dem or GOP if they are practicing corruption, lying, and hurting our state and country, they need to.  Pomeroy does all of the above.  It has to be word of mouth.  I know Duane is kicking butt all over and working hard, but the media aren't doing him any favors.  We can do this thing.

Duane Sand 2008.

Our democratic senators and congressman have been in there too long. They are all part of the problem in Washington, and it only gets worse every time we re-elect them. They are part of the do-nothing congress that has failed to do anything in the last two years. The only thing they are good at is being stubborn asses when they don't get their way and pointing fingers at everyone else but themselves. We need doers, not talkers.

It is time that we North Dakotans get together and vote these guys out of office. We need to look at the big picture, not just in North Dakota. We are sending these clowns to Washington! We can start the change by voting for Duane Sand on November 4th!

But we can't stop there. When Conrad and Dorgan are up for re-election, we need to remove them also.

If you ever run for office, I might vote for you.  You sound like you know what you're talking about .  Well this I can tell you, incumbents are down across the country, especially if you voted for the bailout.  Duane is seriously getting word of mouth and rising in the polls, I'm not making that up.  If smart people like yourself vote for Sand and tell your friends and family, it can happen.

I hear what you are saying about the Native vote and I agree 100%.  I am part Indian and in a Tribe.  Not one of these, but one that is pretty well off.  I hear you loud and clear and we are in total agreement, they do take the Indian vote for granted.  Year in and  year out they think they have them 100%.  I can tell you this, we may see a little decay in that this year.  If turn out is strong, anti incumbent feelings reign, and a point or two is peeled away from his traditional base, then Duane can pull it off.

Sand is running hard this year and I mean really hard.  I've seen him at two events, watched TV commercials, and radio.  I can tell you that he smoked Pomeroy at the recent taped debate for PBS and Pomeroy had to take another debate.  No one has ever scared Earl like this.

Don't give up.  Give Sand your vote and spread the word.  If you get five to ten and I do the same, we might do it.  Plus, I have a feeling that the Native vote might not be 100% this year.

Great post though.  You know what you're talking about.  If any Native Americans are reading this from one of the four Tribes, think about it.  Pomeroy is a double talker and he does take you for granted.  I don't believe Duane Sand will do that.

Sorry Duane Sand may be rising but he will need an all out effort to win this election.... It is hard to move the thunder butt of an incumbent.... They tend to grab onto things so tight  that it is hard to pull them off ..... The key is the native american vote..... They vote almost 100% Democratic. The next time you sit down with your good native american friends ask them how the Democratic Party has helped them in the last 15 years. Ask them is the reservations are are safer? Ask them if there are more educated? Ask them if crime has dropped ?Ask them if rapes are down?  Ask them if they are able to afford homes? Ask them if they are finding employment? Ask them if they are better or worse off than they were 15 years ago? Ask them if they believe in Personal Responsibility. I hate the fact that are used like pawns year after year ,election after election simply for a vote.... When it is election time they are thrown a couple of bones and left alone to live in poverty. If I were a Native American I would do one of two things, I would vote Republican for a change or I would become Personally Responsible for myself, family and friends... I have many Native American friends who do more individually for their own people then any government program ever will. If I was a Senator I would give big chunks of money to those who are really making a difference because they can do more good with real cash then the government ever will. Did the Native Americans just get back their land in Parshall and have intentions to build a refinery, and are being represented by Senators who believe that ethanol and wind are the answer. Keep kicking them Senators, you have them down...

GT,

You  are so right.  Thank you.  I honestly think this is one that all of us have to come together on.  I've read other posts about there being unity in our state on this.  Everyone is fighting over the Presidential thing and that's cool, but we need to look at home too.  Earl has represented ND for to long and he keeps taking and taking. We suffer, he gets rich.  Something is wrong with that.

Duane Sand is a fresh beginning for our state.

Iam voting for Duane Sand. And I hope many follow. Pomeroy had his run for too long.  And he's a crook just like Conrad.  Keep Dorgan and get rid of the other 2 stooges.

In Article: WSI From the Eyes of the Injured
As a spouse of a totally disabled worker, I was proud to take a copy of the petition to my local courthouse, office to office, stop people on the street, go door to door. I live in a very rural area, not many people around, but I did what I could, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

One of the biggest reasons I am involved is because when my husband turns 65, WSI will automatically "retire" him from the workforce. Then they will cut his benifits by 2/3 and in 17 years will discontinue all benefits. Now, I ask you, how fair is that? He was injured in 02, and suffers a traumatic brain injury, plus chronic pain from all the broken bones, numerous hours of surgery and physical rehab. His short term memory is gone, as well as many memories of the past. He doesn't have the ability to think spontaneously and make good decisions. He can tolerate about 4 hours of doing little things around the house. He has to sleep in the morning for 2 hours and 3 in the afternoon. Just to make it through a day.

Now, all the years he hasn't and isn't going to work, doesn't increase the amount of money he would pay into Social Security. We only get one cost of living raise a year, and that is pretty much taken by Medicare. So when WSI retires him, and cuts his benefits, and we don't get increased Social Security, what are we going to live on. I would love to go out and work, however, he needs supervision on a daily basis, and I am the one who has to do it.

We need to have some changes made to the WSI Century code that says they have the right to do this.
Thanks for listening Reply...

Myself and some other concerned citizens of North Dakota are working on an initiated measure that would return the overseeing of WSI to the Governor's office.

We are currently circulating a petition that would bring to vote procedures to help restore WSI to what it was intended to be.

We need approx. 13,000 signatures of North Dakota citizens to put this measure on the ballet in the next primary or general election. Governor Hoeven mentioned this matter in a letter to the editor of the Minot Daily News.

I am in Minot and there are petitions circulating in Bismarck and Fargo. If anyone is interested in signing, please email me at lcsgirl@srt.com. ( Kindly put WSI in the subject line. )We can arrange a time when we could meet if you would like to sign this initiated law petition.

We need to band together to make these changes that are so
desperately needed. The injured workers of North Dakota are counting on us.

If anyone is interested I can email or fax more information concerning this important issue.

Thank you!

To Tom: I watched the interview with Mark Schneider on the news, and have watched the video several times. There was not a single time that Mark Schneider mentioned the name Jasper Schneider, so how can you call it a political ad? Most people of ND wouldn't even know of the relationship between the two, much less know of what us injured workers go thru on a day to day basis. Again, thank you to Jim Shaw and KX news for what they have done. Reply...

Well workers in north dakota this is why we need to vote out the republicans in this state, and vote in the democrats. It is time for workers in this state to have rights,
1. paid vacation time for all workers
2. paid sick leave for all workers
3. the right to be part of a union, or employees group and no harassment by the boss.
4. medical insurance Reply...
