My grandma's lived to 100 and 101. I would love to live that long, as long as I have my mind and am in a good place. Don't want to be abandoned in a home though. Your ma is lucky she's got you boys because I see alot of old people at our Presbyterian home here that nobody bothers to visit anymore. They just dumped them off and forgot about them. Really p*sses me off, so I try to go visit when I can. I was over there today, but need to go back soon and spend more time. Reply...

There is a good chance of that, her mother made it to 103 and was sharp at 100. Reply...

I think it's great that she's doing so well and still able to live where she wants. She sounds pretty sharp to boot. Maybe she'll outlive you boys! Reply...

She lost the leg and toes about 15 years ago and almost lost the other last summer.  She lives on our family farm with my brother and has long "vacations" with me.  She is a retired RN and is training her sons how to care for a diabetic.  Yes it is amazing and thank God for Medicare. Reply...

I'm really sorry to hear about that too.... but my gosh, she's in her 90's! That's an accomplishment in itself. Maybe you inherited her longevity. When did she lose her leg? Does she live on her own? My mother spent the past few years of her life in a home. Due to her not taking care of herself all her life, she was a brittle diabetic and had osteoporosis so bad that if somebody hugged her, they'd break a rib. Reply...

I would have to agree with the Fraud thing. what happens is.. these people "claim to be medicare providers" and bill the govt for patient services that were never completed. OR there are providers that bill for services that they should NOT be billing (filing fees for one, or they bill for two many services..they bill for taking out eye lashes..sorry thats counted as just one service).  Medicare is getting better at catching these people but by the time they do and can prove it, its too late.  Those fake providers dont usually pay back what they owe. Just because a settlement is won..doesnt necessarily mean that payment will come. In California, I know some drug dealers did that in ONE OFFICE and filed over 2 million dollars worth of claims (and were paid) in 4 years. How they gunna pay that $2mil when they are sitting in jail?? They cant. And people blame the president?? Come on..its not just about the president or the cabinets decisions..its about A-holish people doing this stuff too! Thats your money, my money, our future's money.

If it's gestational diabetes, it goes away shortly after giving birth. Sounds like she has it for life. I hope she eats alot of REAL food and not processed stuff. Like Flapps said, you have to watch what you eat....then the problem doesn't get as bad as it could. Reply...

Marilyn,   its been 18 yrs for Debbie.   Shots each day.   No one else in the family has it, and we have a big family.

Debbie has excellent weight and does walk each day.  So you say it may go away?

Great ideas, but the main thing needed is Capital Punishment for all States, no more reform, just a bullet between the eyes for, killers, rapist, child molesters, medicare and medicaid fraud, etc.....
