Well, with any luck we will be at our house in Az tomorrow. I am so glad. It has been a long trip. We left one week ago tomorrow and have will have put about 2400 miles on the car.
Today, we went through Carlsbad Caverns. It really was neat. I think everyone should go if they get close to it. I walked through most of it. My husband took the handcapped trail and made it okay. I walked the entire great room trail and I walked the 7500 feet that takes you into mouth of the cave. It is almost straight down. It really gives you a idea of how huge the cave is and how far down it goes. Anyone else been there?
Theresa, I hope your surgery goes well. I have a sinus problem. I sometimes wonder if it is allergy induced or something else. By the way, I told my hubby you got hearing aids from the VA. How did you go about getting them? He needas them but we don't have the 7000 at least to pay for them. Are yours the digital ones?
WEll, gonna watch tv and hit the hay early. We want an early start tomorrow.
Later Ladies and to all a good night. Reply...
I find it hard to fathom that when sports comes into the picture, that any tendencies of conservatism go down the drain. That the state would kick in "only" 10% is total fiction. I can see government providing for roads, maybe, but that is not what is in the craw of true conservatives. How in the hell DID players salaries get so damned high? A huge contributor has been that governments, for the most part, has provided the facilities in almost every area, because owners KNEW they would have their facilities provided.
When does it stop? Maybe I like NASCAR........maybe the government should kick in the same percentages for that in every area that wants that venue also. Just think of ALL the revenue it would bring in, with the hotels, restraunts........
Where do we stop this madness? Billionaire owners, paying mega-millionaire players, demanding WE provide for them so they can make MORE. 3M is in Minnesota also, bringing in HUGE amounts of revenue compared to a sports team..........should we also began to build their buildings under the threat of leaving the state, I would say the Vikings pale in comparison to some of the larger businesses.
This has become one sick, sick business. Just like this totally out of control government spending, this sick government obsession with providing for sports HAS to stop at some point...............we just cannot afford it anymore. Reply...

Hi everyone how are you today? I am good, thanks for asking, I also am having surgery in December. For anyone in Minot that is reading this that has ear or sinus problems there is a new doctor at ENT at Trinity, he is marvelous. After years of pain he is doing sinus surgery on me.
Curly that is a scary story with the cow poop on the car; do you know what I do all the time now? I carry my cell phone right next me and take photos of trucks and cars that are breaking the law, you should have called that truck in, that is not suppose to happen. My prayers are with you and your husband every day.
KO you are nice not to take advantage of what is yours, do your kids with him have military benefits? When I was a First Sergeant, I was always on men to own to their responsibilities. Like your friend with the child of a military man, that child is entitled to a life time of benefits. Enough about that I was getting worked up sorry.
Marilyn if you are reading this I am sorry if I made you mad. This room is a separate forum; we all just dump our stuff. Marilyn how about that bus accident in MN, and the today show had this story about boys hurting people for a YouTube moment.
Care do you have a map application on your phone? I do, I have a map of anywhere, and too bad I never go anywhere. Keep the Shelbeast up with her school, make sure she knows she has to be smart in her life, and not have to depend on any man to take care of her. I tell my daughter that every day; she needs to focus on college and not her looser boyfriend. I tell her knowing how to play “Call of Duty” video game will mean nothing when in 10 years. She makes me so mad; don’t get me started on that one.
Shoppe, I love you so this is for you...

Hay how come we don't have a McDonalds in Walmart?
I like the Eggnog shakes.
See you later, Theresa

The state will not finance the entire stadium. Some of you come in here spouting off and a situation you have no clue about.
Mr. Wilf wants to spend 3 billion dollar rebuilding that side of Minneapolis, but he needs the city to change roads, etc. The most that has ever been proposed that Minnesota pays is 10 percent of the cost and that was back in 2006 when the stadium was still in the 700 million range. The main issue is that no matter how the Vikings to proposed to pay, even 99.999999% the state denied it because they wanted the team to stay in downtown Minneapolis and would not pay for enlarging an off ramp to the new site.
So let me be clear, at no time has the Vikings even proposed the state pay a billion dollars. Even now the proposed stadium (because of inflation) is only 980 million dollars plus another one to two billion dollars will be put in to building surrounding area up with new and renovated buildings. The state has simply be asked to make feasible. Like moving the train lines to the according areas, improving and building new roads, and an updated electrical and sewer system.
BTW, on average people of Minnesota make 165 dollars extra during good years. The state makes 26 million a year just from the stadium. That doesn't include player taxes, sales taxes from hotel, rooms, business around the stadium, and shopping centers from people outside the state coming in.
So please Jack where exactly is Minnesota going to make up for all that revenue that is lost? Reply...

What tax revenue, sick-o? Would take a LOT of years of revenue to make up for a BILLION dollar stadium.......................... Reply...
That should be 30th of 32 teams in REVENUE... Reply...
The Minnesota Tax payer is going to foot the bill when the team leaves, once for the the tax revenue lost, and twice when the build another stadium to lure back the NFL.
Every other large business in every states get tax breaks etc to build and move there. This is no different.
Furthermore the Vikings asked for 1 percent at one point (The League and The Team would foot the rest of the bill). That one percent would have paid to tear down the Metrodome. They also proposed to buy the Metrodome for one dollar, tear it down and rebuild there, and pay for it themselves, and the State wouldn't let them. Wilf (Vikings owner) wants to spend about 3 billion dollars between his stadium and redeveloping that part of Minneapolis. The biggest slap in the face is when the Twins got a stadium passed and they only asked once. The Gophers also got a new stadium. Because of the stadium they are in the Minnesota Vikings are 30th of 32 teams in the NFL, despite selling out every game since 1998. Reply...
Why should state govt.s build stadiums for these teams, isn't that corporate welfare? These team owners should build their own stadiums, they have all kinds of money to pay these atheletes these massive salaries. It is not the resposibility of the taxpayer to build stadiums. Govt.s rarely reclaim the revenues lost in stadiums. Reply...
I just come from Monticello Sick and its Viking Mania. They deserve a Super Bowl but not putting no money on it , i learned my 20 dollar lesson. If i loose I dont loose much, and if i win i always wish i had bet more LOL Reply...

Hello everyone!
Anyone heard from Marilyn? I have not seen a post from her anywhere on the forum and a long time.
Well, I have been on a roll. We left last Saturday for Fargo. We stayed there until Monday morning and then we left for Minneapolis to see hubby's doc. They are making application to Workforce safety for him to have surgery. I am not sure if it is the right thing to do but the poor man needs to get releif and it is the only thing anyone has really offered. They will remove the metal from his spine and try to clean up L3. If approved it will be in Dec some time.
Then after his appointment was over, we left Minneapolis for AZ as a final destination. We are driving down a old car we bought for our use down there. It is an old Lincoln towncar. It is a 1999 and it is really still a very nice car and is perfect for what we need it for. It was cheap too.
The trip has gone pretty well, except for the fact that he is miserable and pretty high on pain meds so he can stand the ride. Right now he is passed out in bed and has been for about an hour and it is only 7:30 this time. We are in New Mexico. I hope to make it either tomorrow or the nxt morning. We will fly back to Bismarck on Dec 2. We will be there until the surgery is done or we will just fly back to Az for the remainder of the winter.
Gotta tell you a funny story. We were driving into a little town called Hampton Iowa. It was just getting dark and I was driving. It smelled like Pig, chicken cow dung and it was pungent. Well, a truck is coming from the front and just as it went by, one (or more) of the animals releived itself and it hit our car big time. I almost hit the ditch. Hard to see through that stuff. GROSS! The next morning I took the car to a do it your self car wash and spent 10 bucks washing the yuk off the car. I almost lost it cause I do not have a very strong stomach and that was about at the top of my limit.
Well, sounds like you are all fine. Si Ko I know you are very sad and I feel for you. Wish there was something we could do to ease your sorrow.
Well, good night ladies.
bye Reply...
That will teach for gamblin lol.
Seriously tho, the Vikings have been trying to get a deal done since the late 90's. Reply...
Sick but I lost 20 bucks on the super bowl once with them , once bitten twice shy. Reply...
They have had plenty of good years. They just haven't clinched it. The Vikings bring all sorts of money to the state. If they leave tax revenue is going to plummet.
Which means the people of Minnesota will picking up the tab on them. Reply...
I sure hope they dont push them Vikings into North Dakota we got enough dangerous Norsky's over here. The reason the dome cost so much to begin with was they needed bigger fans to keep the ceiling up because they sucked so bad now after 1 good year , i repeat 1 good year means nothing. Before the dome, they looked up for over 30 years and would see the Good Year Blimp and think it was a good year. So is nice to see Minnesota is a little skeptical because you never know where Favre will retire to next year.
If they take the Super Bowel they will have to add a room Reply...

Hello everyone, how are you today? I am okay; I had a busy day today. Of course I started with the paper route, and then I went off to the soup kitchen at about 0730hrs. I made a banana cake this morning, if you ever have brown bananas; I have a great cake recipe. From bananas to cake in 45 minutes, if you want banana frosting an extra ten minutes. I add chocolate chips, everyone loves my banana cake. I helped get things ready for the soup kitchen, and then I had to get a CAT scan at 1130. So I had my CAT scan stood up and passed out, cold fish. I woke up to smelling salts, there were people around me and they wanted to take me to the emergency room. I didn’t want to go, but they said I had to and I can’t wait to see this bill. I have problems with passing out, I have no idea what triggered it. I am home now all safe at my computer.
KO, KO, KO, smells like you had a rough day, I remember those days of sick kids and poop. I really don’t want to think about it. Your x husband retired from the Military right? How long were you married to him, you know if you were married over ten years you are entitled to half of his retirement, did you know that? That is why my husband hopes I never leave him, there is no law that says he is entitled to half of my military retirement, but I get half of his. I would never take it, when we split it will be clean, divorce in a do it yourself box, sells at office max $79.99.
Care how is the clean up going, okay let’s do it… Let’s do a looky look at the world of Care
Care if I was there, we would be going to see The Beatles tribute band
