Argumentum ad Hominem: the fallacy of attacking the character or circumstances of an individual who is advancing a statement or an argument instead of trying to disprove the truth of the statement or the soundness of the argument. Often the argument is characterized simply as a personal attack.

MMM.....Great!  One of the things that really gets me about this country is this!!!   We can bomb the hell out of a country, killing innocent people but when it comes to pulling the plug on some A - - H - - - like this, there are people out there that will come to his defense even though a jury has condemned him.  Then the sob gets about 10 years of APPEALS!  HELLO!  What happend to that young girls appeals?  The only one that heard her appeals is the sob that is in jail getting three hots and a cot.  Then there are the bleeding hearts that say:  OMG what if we put an innocent man to death!  HOW MANY OF OUR INNOCENT MEN AND WOMEN DIE IN WARS SO THIS SOB CAN LIVE?  Besides, if he is innocent he will just meet JC a little sooner, thats all.  Sneaky, in a way I wish you wouldn't of had brought this subject up because it makes me want to reach out and touch somebody, preferably with a 444 between his eyes.  Then there are the ones that say:  we should FORGIVE him.  Forgive this worthless piece of garbage, this garbage that kills and rapes?  I must be on the wrong planet. I do not have a cell phone. I gave it up years ago. the bill was outrageous and I always forgot it everywhere. The hubby would be so upset because I never answered when he called.  As far as Shelby and her knowledge of maps. That is all DNA...I got my love of maps from my dad and she gets it from me.  I was reading rather playing with my dad's globe in our den when I was about 6.....he always had atlas' and maps everywhere for everything.  I also have maps from National Geographic.  So Shelby definitely comes by it honestly.  The parent teacher conference was so good.  I love that she is good student.  A natural leader (bossy) the teachers said.

Si how is everyone feeling in your family?   I'm sure you're missing the kids but it sounds like you are doing the right thing by them....that is the most important thing to remember.  It's easy to be selfish and do what's best for you....so I'm proud of you. Good job Momma!!!!  :)

I am sick today.  Yesterday I woke up with my sinus and ears and throat all bugging me.  Today I can hardly breathe, my chest is heavy, one ear is painful (infection?) sinuses drainin'!!!  CRAPPY!

Our weather is warm for this time of year....sunshine and 59 out!  WOW!!!

Thanksgiving is coming.......yummo!!

Have a great day all...

From a scabbing liar that did not uphold his obligation to "serve", you've go a lot of nerve, rugby. For someone that illegally invaded our military, thinking it was the Peace Corp, you take the cake. The Senate DID authorize the ability to invade Iraq. But by rugby's distorted logic, we just went into a peaceful, keep-to-yourself country and decimated it just for the fun of it. The past is done, rugby, you are getting your government check for being a pacifist. Go out to your weekly "peace" protests on the corner (which have virtually disappeared since Bush left - go figure). Start your rampage against your current president, your constant references to the past are doing NOTHING. You want "change"? (and how's that workin' out for ya?) Then you start going after the current administration to get your "change"......going after the past president does nothing but show what a "phony" you really are..... Reply...

Well, with any luck we will be at our house in Az tomorrow.  I am so glad.  It has been a long trip.  We left one week ago tomorrow and have will have put about 2400 miles on the car.

Today, we went through Carlsbad Caverns.  It really was neat.  I think everyone should go if they get close to it.  I walked through most of it.  My husband took the handcapped trail and made it okay.  I walked the entire great room trail and I walked the 7500 feet that takes you into mouth of the cave.  It is almost straight down.  It really gives you a idea of how huge the cave is and how far down it goes.  Anyone else been there?

Theresa, I hope your surgery goes well.  I have a sinus problem.  I sometimes wonder if it is allergy induced or something else.  By the way, I told my hubby you got hearing aids from the VA.  How did you go about getting them?  He needas them but we don't have the 7000 at least to pay for them.  Are yours the digital ones?

WEll, gonna watch tv and hit the hay early.  We want an early start tomorrow.

Later Ladies and to all a good night.

In Article: I HATE THE MINNESOTA STATE GOVERNMENT

I find it hard to fathom that when sports comes into the picture, that any tendencies of conservatism go down the drain.  That the state  would kick in "only" 10% is total fiction.  I can see government providing for roads, maybe, but that is not what is in the craw of true conservatives.  How in the hell DID players salaries get so damned high?  A huge contributor has been that governments, for the most part, has provided the facilities in almost every area, because owners KNEW they would have their facilities provided.

When does it stop?  Maybe I like NASCAR........maybe the government should kick in the same percentages for that in every area that wants that venue also.  Just think of ALL the revenue it would bring in, with the hotels, restraunts........

Where do we stop this madness?  Billionaire owners, paying mega-millionaire players, demanding WE provide for them so they can make MORE.  3M is in Minnesota also, bringing in HUGE amounts of revenue compared to a sports team..........should we also began to build their buildings under the threat of leaving the state, I would say the Vikings pale in comparison to some of the larger businesses.

This has become one sick, sick business.  Just like this totally out of control government spending, this sick government obsession with providing for sports HAS to stop at some point...............we just cannot afford it anymore.

Hi everyone how are you today? I am good, thanks for asking, I also am having surgery in December.  For anyone in Minot that is reading this that has ear or sinus problems there is a new doctor at ENT at Trinity, he is marvelous. After years of pain he is doing sinus surgery on me.

Curly that is a scary story with the cow poop on the car; do you know what I do all the time now? I carry my cell phone right next me and take photos of trucks and cars that are breaking the law, you should have called that truck in, that is not suppose to happen.  My prayers are with you and your husband every day.

KO you are nice not to take advantage of what is yours, do your kids with him have military benefits? When I was a First Sergeant, I was always on men to own to their responsibilities. Like your friend with the child of a military man, that child is entitled to a life time of benefits. Enough about that I was getting worked up sorry.

Marilyn if you are reading this I am sorry if I made you mad. This room is a separate forum; we all just dump our stuff.  Marilyn how about that bus accident in MN, and the today show had this story about boys hurting people for a YouTube moment.

Care do you have a map application on your phone? I do, I have a map of anywhere, and too bad I never go anywhere.  Keep the Shelbeast up with her school, make sure she knows she has to be smart in her life, and not have to depend on any man to take care of her. I tell my daughter that every day; she needs to focus on college and not her looser boyfriend. I tell her knowing how to play “Call of Duty” video game will mean nothing when in 10 years. She makes me so mad; don’t get me started on that one.

Shoppe, I love you so this is for you...

CANADACARE MAY HAVE KILLED NATASHA

COULD actress Natasha Richardson's tragic death have been prevented if her skiing accident had occurred in America rather than Canada?
Canadian health care de-emphasizes widespread dissemination of technology like CT scanners and quick access to specialists like neurosurgeons. While all the facts of Richardson's medical care haven't been released, enough is known to pose questions with profound implications.
Richardson died of an epidural hematoma - - a bleeding artery between the skull and brain that compresses and ultimately causes fatal brain damage via pressure buildup. With prompt diagnosis by CT scan, and surgery to drain the blood, most patients survive.

Could Richardson have received this care? Where it happened in Canada, no. In many US resorts, yes.
Between noon and 1 p.m., Richardson sustained what appeared to be a trivial head injury while skiing at Mt. Tremblant in Quebec. Within minutes, she was offered medical assistance but declined to be seen by paramedics.
But this delay is common in the early stages of epidural hematoma when patients have few symptoms - - and there is reason to believe her case wasn't beyond hope at that point.
About three hours after the accident, the actress was taken to Centre Hospitalier Laurentien, in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, 25 miles from the resort. Hospital spokesman Alain Paquette said she was conscious upon reaching the hospital about 4 p.m.
The initial paramedic assessment, travel time to the hospital and time she spent there was nearly two hours - - the crucial interval in this case. Survival rates for patients with epidural hematomas, conscious on arrival to a hospital, are good.
Richardson's evaluation required an immediate CT scan for diagnosis - - followed by either a complete removal of accumulated blood by a neurosurgeon or a procedure by a trauma surgeon or emergency physician to relieve the pressure and allow her to be transported.
But Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts is a town of 9,000 people. Its hospital doesn't have specialized neurology or trauma services. It hasn't been reported whether the hospital has a CT scanner, but CT scanners are less common in Canada.
Compounding the problem, Quebec has no helicopter services to trauma centers in Montreal. Richardson was transferred by ambulance to Hospital du Sacre-Coeur, a trauma center 50 miles away in Montreal - - a further delay of over an hour.
Because she didn't arrive at a facility capable of treatment (with the diagnosis perhaps still unknown) until six hours after the injury, in all likelihood by that time the pressure buildup was fatal. The Montreal hospital could not have saved her life.
Her initial refusal of medical care accounted for only part of the delay. She was still conscious when seen at a hospital and her death might have been prevented if the hospital either had the resources to diagnose and institute temporizing therapy, or air transport had taken her quickly to Montreal.
What would have happened at a US ski resort? It obviously depends on the location and facts, but according to a colleague who has worked at two major Colorado ski resorts, the same distance from Denver as Mt. Tremblant is from Montreal, things would likely have proceeded differently.
Assuming Richardson initially declined medical care here as well, once she did present to caregivers that she was suffering from a possible head trauma, she would've been immediately transported by air, weather permitting, and arrived in Denver in less than an hour.
If this weren't possible, in both resorts she would've been seen within 15 minutes at a local facility with CT scanning and someone who could perform temporary drainage until transfer to a neurosurgeon was possible.
If she were conscious at 4 p.m., she'd most likely have been diagnosed and treated about that time, receiving care unavailable in the local Canadian hospital. She might've still died or suffered brain damage but her chances of surviving would have been much greater in the United States.
American medicine is often criticized for being too specialty-oriented, with hospitals "duplicating" too many services like CT scanners. This argument has merit, but those criticisms ignore cases where it is better to have resources and not need them than to need resources and not have them.

In Article: I HATE THE MINNESOTA STATE GOVERNMENT
The state will not finance the entire stadium. Some of you come in here spouting off and a situation you have no clue about.

Mr. Wilf wants to spend 3 billion dollar rebuilding that side of Minneapolis, but he needs the city to change roads, etc. The most that has ever been proposed that Minnesota pays is 10 percent of the cost and that was back in 2006 when the stadium was still in the 700 million range. The main issue is that no matter how the Vikings to proposed to pay, even 99.999999% the state denied it because they wanted the team to stay in downtown Minneapolis and would not pay for enlarging an off ramp to the new site.

So let me be clear, at no time has the Vikings even proposed the state pay a billion dollars. Even now the proposed stadium (because of inflation) is only 980 million dollars plus another one to two billion dollars will be put in to building surrounding area up with new and renovated buildings. The state has simply be asked to make feasible. Like moving the train lines to the according areas, improving and building new roads, and an updated electrical and sewer system.

BTW, on average people of Minnesota make 165 dollars extra during good years. The state makes 26 million a year just from the stadium. That doesn't include player taxes, sales taxes from hotel, rooms, business around the stadium, and shopping centers from people outside the state coming in.

So please Jack where exactly is Minnesota going to make up for all that revenue that is lost? Reply...

Government rationed health care will kill. Not just limited mammograms.

Very expensive. The real cost will be well over 2 trillion dollars just to start. Do not believe the low ball number.

Coverage for illegals as medicare for seniors is reduced.

This is change with NO hope.

Fox Again Uses Old Footage To Beef Up Crowd Numbers - - This Time For Palin

Rachel Slajda | November 18, 2009

Think Progress catches Fox News today again using old footage to make crowds look bigger than they were, this time to show all the people that are showing up for Sarah Palin's book tour.
During a short segment about Palin "drawing crowds" on the tour, Fox played several clips that are obviously from rallies on the campaign trail last year. While the clips played, host Gregg Jarrett said, "These are some of the pictures just coming in to us. ... There's a crowd of folks."

Fox has the advantage here. They know that their audience really doesn't care if they doctored the video..They swallow anything Fox ladles out, whole and without question.
So Fox has been caught three times this month lying and cheating.
Fox doesn't care, and neither does their audience.
