Dear A Stenehjem

Just keep writing, more people have read this than voted for Wayne. I fight for this country everyday too. Please don't stop your powerful words.

This site topic was started to promote the great Wayne Stenehjem.

Who's hiding, "Question Mark" with nothing filled out about your background. Typical! Reply...

Dakota Dan,

First off, whats my point?  I'll use small words and simple sentences in order for you to understand, since you seemed to have missed it last time.  If you have a problem with the way elected officials run things, complaining about it over a news forum isn't the way to handle it.  Go out and try to change it.  Try and get people on your side.  Bring it up to the Supreme Court if you have to.  Try and find some one who will do a better job. If you think that person is you then step up. Hiding behind your computer screen is pointless.

Secondly, don't you even try to tell me whats "hard".  You have no idea what I do.  I promise it isn't some cushy job like you have trying to sell renewable energy.   While you sit in your home and wonder what you're going to complain about next,  I'm out of the United States defending your right to say what you want.   I don't need to defend what Wayne does. He's a grown man and can take care of himself.   But what you don't seem to get is that while you're at home rooting for the next big crash in NASCAR, people are trying to make this world a better place the best way they can.  Instead of complaining, we're doing.

The story is told out over the country a thousand time and more, the problems of society with laws against drugs, and where you as a parent should turn to for help, when you find out who is selling.

You are not to take the law into your own hands, but what do you do if the law retaliates at you for going to the media and bringing to attention the attitudes of law officials, DA,  Judges and what I experienced.  The law did not know I had friends in journalism so I went to the media by having an eye wittness explain, warning parents out there what to look out for, meth is no drug to play around with. This was aired over the Kx net work in segments in the news for a week.  I hope it brought attention to other parents who may have gotten a handle on the situation before its to late. Its hard to control a son with no handle to grab onto. Meth  not only effects your life, but everyone's life around you.  Its crazy and will make you crazy and you will ruin your life.  It will destroy you and everyone you know and love. There is no drug safe if made with chemicals from under your sink.  They took 6 dolars worth of household chemicals and make thousands.  The money is big profit and can see how appealing it is to make money off of your neighbors sorrows.

Its been over a decade now, everyone involved is still doing fine, the DA is now a judge, the DEA agent quit his job for reasons of his own.  But we did have a talk about what was going on behind his back.  Another quit when he had this person under the gun, and was warned by state officials to lay off.

Everyone is doing fine, except my son never got the help he needed, but you dont get help in jail, you gain new friends.  I am not the first parent to has lost a son to  drugs and certainly not the last.  It is not that I didnt try. I decided my family is more important and didnt want the law retaliating against me through my family.  I recieved a call from the law inquireing about my other son, who had nothing to do with anything his brother was into but the message was explicitly clear. It was a threat in so many words.  He said " Maybe you would like to turn in your other son?" You really havent lived a full life untill the judge tells you behind closed door. "It made here, the money stays here, it is subsidizing buisnesses and good for the economy".  They think someone who is for legalization of marijuana would like to see meth and cocain, and heroin legal.  No Sir !  I just know what is bad for america and that is the double standards we all experience with this country.

Where are drugs after a 50 year war against drugs to keep drugs off  the streets of america?  I will tell you they are on the streets of america, Education is the key to happy life

All is good in america if you keep your mouth shut.     I just might get mad enough to write a book because this is a problem that effects all of america. Not just one segment, it affects us all.

Dear A. Stenehjem,

Just catching up on your October 11th posting - -

I have to ask, what's your point? That the poor people who run for public office have it so rough and being a "political figure" is so hard they need our sympathy? Or should get a pass?

You want to know what's hard? Building a business, creating jobs, not getting taxed into oblivion, taking care of your family - -

I'm afraid you've got it backwards. It's the responsibility of everyone to hold "political figures" accountable. It has nothing to do with the temperature of my ice-cream.

Wayne is in an elected office and Drew was a political appointment - - paid by the public to serve.
They are not above the law or being questioned. When "political figures" can't be questioned, we've got some serious problems.

Facts are facts - - they've got some answering to do.

How about we start with fabrication of evidence to get an Indictment i.e. the Bala case overturned by the U.S. Court of Appeals?

What in the world was Drew Wriggley doing stomping all over a North Dakota company because of a false claim started by Mike Cichy? A claim that RSI was "running a simulcast site that needed a second license"? Well, it turns out that RSI wasn't running a simulcast site, and it was already licensed by the State for Account Wagering.

And this was after Wayne Stenehjem took over RSI just months after the Account Wagering began because he said it owed millions in taxes. It turns out there was no tax for Account Wagering in the State law and there was no deadline to pay parimutuel taxes - - period. They didn't get around to correcting the legislation or putting rules until 2007. Quite a gap.

Stenehjem and Wriggley ran to the press, a Grand Jury, and a trial jury telling everybody a false story. They even said RSI hadn't paid Federal taxes - - when it had!

All fabrications against an honest business person who started a business from nothing, had paid over $26-million in taxes to North Dakota, built a State industry, and was rewarded by being sent to federal prison for not breaking any laws. She LOST everything... business, home, health, reputation ... everything! How much tax has wonderful Wayne paid? Or Drew?

After they'd been out there showboating for the cameras and run RSI into the ground - - they weren't about to lose face and back down.

Maybe Wayne wouldn't enjoy 70% of the vote of the fair minded people of North Dakota if the public knew his actions in this case - - maybe Drew wouldn't have that political future he wants so badly. Maybe that's why Wayne and Drew did what they did to railroad this case rather than admit they were wrong - - something those "political figures" really do have a hard time doing.

This injustice was wrong from the start. The North Dakota Racing Commission could and should have handled this from the beginning. Wayne and Drew abused the power of their offices. When the government attacks a business and innocent person like this, they need to MAN-UP.

"Grow a set"? I think that's been done - - that's what it takes to stand up to "political figures".

Sick you are dead on with the idea of being innocent untill a court of law and a jury has found you guilty, and it is unfortunate most of these people did not make it to a court of law.  Alot would have come out.

The law can be just as corrupt as any criminal and I have seen it.  I wish you had not brought that up because one of the reasons I am still alive is because i want to live long enough to see america kick butt when it comes to the injustice performed in our courts of laws.

I would love to discuss over a cup of coffee what i know of the meth proplem in this country, and why it is here.  When a judge tells you, its made here, it is supporting  buisnesses here, its good for the economy.  That was enough for me to understand what is going on in this country. That is all I can say about it in here. But you can believe me I was at the courthouse in their faces about this.  I have written letters to other court justices about this. At this time I got a lady to go on tv to warn the public of the meth problem.  I tried to help but was slaped by a judge when letting him know what i know.  I then experience the law going after my family, that was the slap in my face.  I had a bad son and a good son.  The law called me up and reminded me I have another son.  Which was a direct threat for me to lay off or they would get him to.  So I am waiting and quieted down, and I wonder what I will do if they continue to threaten me for standing up against something that is clearly killing our children. I dont take threats lightly by anyone even corrupt law officials.

We do have a problem how law and government can white wash anything, and the zombies just follow behind the pied piper and pay the piper so they can fill their pipes and smoke it.

I always say if there is one of me, there is a 1000 of me out there.  This has happened all over the nation to others .  We all have storys to tell.

Another point I want to touch on is that I don't believe there was malicious intent. Over zealous law enforcement and prosecutors are too blame, but at best it is negligence. Which brings me to my second point. WE ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. We don't practice that anymore, we are guilty in the eyes of law enforcement, prosecutors, media, and public opinion until proven innocent. Even then a lot of times the public and media in generally don't care, and you are still guilty.

The fix is pretty simple. In school while people are training to be judges, prosecutors, cops, feds, etc, they need to have INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, bashed into their heads. Then as they work in their respective fields they need to critiqued and punished for not following this creed. As a disclaimer most of those in the fields of justice in general are not bad. But there are cases such as these in this thread that show what happen when we become over Zealous. Now on too the media and public need a bigger share in the blame of this, and a much larger share than justice employees. If you are charged with any case that is anywhere near high profile there is no way you can get a fair trial. Because news outlets do not share counter evidence. They get the public riled up with fantastic claims, and we the public believe it. Then we decide if some is guilty long before any trial has taken place.

The Duke rape case is a perfect example of how an over zealous prosecutor and police coupled with media reports from people like Nancy Grace, and public like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson jumped all over these innocent boys. They are very lucky not to be in prison right now. Reply...

I agree what happened was a tragedy and could have been prevented. I really feel tho, no matter what happened there, there was going to be a blood bath.

Actually what brought the attention of the Davidians to the ATF was a mail worker who accidentally broke a box and load of inert grenades fell out. That and the automatic weapons firing, which was heard by neighbors. Weapons were apart of that search warrant as well.

As far as the religion part, I said as long as your religion doesn't infringe upon other's rights it is protected.

To me that video of the Davidians talking about Koresh was pretty damning. That video alone probably would have gotten him convicted on child sex abuse. It is unfortunate that he never had the chance to face the court, and even sadder that all that innocent blood was shed. Reply...

In a prior post i did state → It may have been wacked out religion but in most ways all religion could be considered unfounded  and a snub in someones nose ? So who decides which religion is ok and which is not ?  Dont leave that one up to legislation.

As far as stock pileing weapons there is no law broken.  The government does not want you to have automatic weapons; however semi automatic  are the exception, and would be my preference.  A man would have to be a damn fool to want a weapon on automatic unless he just has the desire to waste ammo.  If your any/good at all its one shot one kill, and much better on the ammo supply. Regardless automatic assault weapons are out-lawed the only people who possess them is law enforcement and government proclaimed criminals. I guess to me a weapon is a weapon.  We are americans and being free means you need to be armed to the teeth because there are a whole lot of people out there who would love to take them away.

It does look like this guy was armed for armageddon, but the warrent was for sexual relations with a minor. →  The remnants of a huge arsenal was later found after the fire amidst the ruins of the Davidian compound. This stockpile included grenades, gas masks, more than a million rounds of ammunition and at least 40 submachine guns. ← This to me says they did not have a warrent for weapons but one of sexual alligations. If so they sure had alot of agents storming the compound, I guess I dont see that to much in any rape case.

If they did know of these weapons that would be all the more reason to wait this situation out with the amount of children known to be in the building.

It is pretty clear to anyone who watched live that day as far as first shots, and that is why it remains unclear as who fired the first shot.  I guess the government does not recognize an officer accidently shooting himself in the leg as a first shot.  How easy it is for a government to white wash and move on,

It is clear the government used  excessive force as far as having children involved because of the deaths of those 70 some children.  Dont matter whos fault anymore that is enough punishment for anyone.

The thing is the government had all the time in the world and again chose the wrong time to storm troop in.  No body had been killed as of yet and it should have stayed that way.  They knew the kind of person this was, they should have been prepared to do it peacably and wait the creap out.   Think Janet Reno had something to do with this attack and her attitude come in a room 10 feet ahead of that lady.

There are psycho's out there people follow and stranger ones than Keresh,   Is not much you can do about it with the freedom of religion no matter how ludicris is sounds to someone.

In one further thought this guy brought attention to himself proclaiming himself as jesus christ.  That sounds strange and almost needs dealing with right away adding something to this if not the reason they storm trooped in.  Sex ?  Religion? Self Anointing himself as Christ ? Weapons ?  It sure makes you wanna burn this guy to the stake.

I am just left to wonder the day Jesus does return and who will recognize him,  and what government will ?

Children were killed  the government could have waited.

The Davidians were armed and in position for a fight. There is only rumor on who fired at who first.

What about the video made by Koresh's followers and released during the siege, Koresh stated he'd been told by God to procreate with the women in the group to establish a "House of David," his "Special People." This involved married couples in the group dissolving their marriages and agreeing that only Koresh could have sexual relations with the wives. On the tape, Koresh is also shown with several minors who claimed to have had babies fathered by Koresh. In total, Koresh had 14 children who stayed with him in the compound.

Besides allegations of sexual abuse, Koresh was accused of stockpiling illegal weapons. The Feds investigated these charges and obtained a warrant to search Koresh's compound. Former Davidian Marc Breault claimed that Koresh had "...M16 lower receiver parts" (when the receiver is modified and these parts are added to an AR15 rifle it becomes a fully automatic weapon and is subject to the National Firearms Act and its $200 tax in the United States) Reply...

The first shot fired at Waco was an atf officer on a ladder who accidently shot himself in the leg.  The rest was history.

As in Waco there were sexual allegations in the last attempt at slapping freedom of religious RIGHT, with the use of a prank phone call.  Over 400 children were scattered accross the country taken away from their mothers and fathers.  The attempt was over ruled but the stigma of a government is still in the works, and it is my belief it is all in the scheme of erodeing our rights.

Another good book is God Fathers of the Prarie, but you wont find it in North Dakota.  THis literature was banned in North Dakota for sale.

Boy I smell something weird here. The entire Medina Police Department? Has there really been a Medina police department. If so how many were actually employed during the "firing".

Darrell Graf is the former Chief of Police for the City of Medina, N.D., graduating from the North Dakota Law Enforcement Training Center in August of 1976. He is currently President and CEO of PEMNA Fire Apparatus, Ltd. in Fargo, N.D. He holds two patents on firefighting devices he invented, and in addition, is still active in fire and rescue training.

Steve Schnabel is the former Colonel of the police department for the City of Medina, N.D., graduating from the North Dakota Law Enforcement Training Center in April of 1981. He is also a staff sergeant for the North Dakota Army National Guard of which he has been a member for over 19 years. Steve is currently a customer service representative for a manufacturing company in Fargo, N.D.

Something smells fishy with this book. I guess I must go find and read it... Reply...

A good book to read on this subject is "It's All About Power". It is written by the two Medina Police Officers that were employed there when the Medina Incident happened.

I highly encourage you to obtain (library, etc.) a copy to read. Very informative with pictures.

Even still they are still a state organization and falls out side the US military. Even if it is treated as a facet of the US military, because the governors have to approve of anything that happens.

The US Coast Guard is another agency that falls out side of Posse Comitatus...

I have thought at one point or another that a federal tax is illegal. However some basic book work finds out that it is not. This is where the difference between statutory laws and common law come into play, and you can replace common law with constitutional law if it sounds better for you. Basically you the constitution sets up what the gov't can't do to you and what it can do.

Here are the Enumerated powers of congress:

To lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States

To borrow money on the credit of the United States

To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes

To establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States

To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures

To provide for the punishment of counterfeiting the securities and current coin of the United States

To establish post offices and post roads

To promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries

To constitute tribunals inferior to the Supreme Court

To define and punish piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the law of nations

To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water

To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years

To provide and maintain a navy

To make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces

To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in the service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress

To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten miles (16 km) square) as may, by cession of particular states, and the acceptance of Congress, become the seat of the government of the United States, and to exercise like authority over all places purchased by the consent of the legislature of the state in which the same shall be, for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings.

Gordon Kahl may have had all the best intentions in the world but he broke the law and was involved in not one but too fatal shootouts, and nothing he did prior could justify that.

Just a minor point, Sick~0,

I think nearly every item the National Guard has possession of, is owned by the U.S. government.  That includes all weapons, vehicles, communication equipment and personal equipment (such as Gortex gear, sleeping bags, etc.).

The Army National Guard is a component of the U.S. Army, and is not a separate entity owned by each state.  Each governor has certain powers to activate units as emergencies arise, but the same units can also be activated to Federal service by the Commander-in-Chief at any time.

Yes the National Gard is exempt from the act.  I have no idea if another organization has taken on the name but when i refer to the possee it is a goroup of men the sheriff can assemble. In the Medina incident, the sheriff could have brought Gordon in if he thought the government had a right to take him.  Which is pretty much frivelous because the government just makes up papers and takes what they want if they want.  There is no stopping them.

It will never be known all the truths of that day but there was a better way and the government needed to set an example for others who might feel taxation without representation is illegal in this country.  Most of these malitica groups are radicle as all hell but these groups may be your last line of defence some day. They would be all arrested and put away if the government had that right, but being radicle and owning weapons are still basic rights of americans and you cant say they are not thinking of gun control. Now you know why.

As far ad Gordon Kaul was dangerous he was to the Nazi airforce, he was a good shot, and he was a danger to our government.  We cannot have civil unrest over taxes not then and not now. He had never harmed a soul between WWII and the day they shot his son.  Quite frankly if in the same situation blood is thicker than laws with holes that will not hold water.

I have lived with taxes all my life, and I understand there was no tax other than what the citizens voted in to alocate the government once a year when this country was founded. We broke from England on the idea we were taxed to much.

People like Gordon Kaul and many before him were tired of a government that could not live within its means, and operatiing under a deficit every year.  He understoood better than we did.  He protested and was ultimately killed.

Now 30 years later will you answer me honestly ?  Are you taxed to much ?
