I took your advice and checked out his record.  From what I saw there, I would say that he has some serious problems for someone who is 21 years old.  I don't believe that forcing someone into alcohol abuse counseling works - unless the person wants to stop the behavior, so if that is part of the judgment against him, it's probably a waste of time. I don't know what should happen to this guy, but you're right, he's lucky he didn't kill someone.  I have often been told that Germany has a zero tolerance for DUI - I don't know if that is true, but I wish the U.S. would - that at least would stop some of these people from re-offending. Go to North Dakota Courts and type in this SOB name, you will see this SOB is on the wrong side of rules.2nd DUI in 2 months, and much more. Do you really think the Judges are in Ward County are going to make him help repair the Football Field? NOT. So hang the SOB before he kills some inocent people. Reply...

I agree, let the punishment fit the crime;  make him help repair the damage, and then give him a year of community service;  working outside doing groundskeeping on public property, ect. Reply...

Although this totally sucks, there a some bright spots to this story:

1.  The drunk tore up the practice field - not the field at Duane Carlson Stadium.  (practice field is bad enough!)

2.  Someone heard him tearing around and called the police  around 5 o'something in the morning - he was stuck in the mud - thankfully he did not get away - who knows if he would have been caught after the fact.

I don't think he should be hung, but it sounds like he will be charged not only with the DUI but also charges related to the damages at the field.  I think a good punishment would include monetary damages PLUS, he should be made to physically fix as much of the damage HIMSELF - without help, until no more can be done and machinery is needed, then help. Maybe he would learn a lesson quicker if he had to do most of it himself.

Lets not forget about the 4wheelers who love to cut in front of trucks or pull out in front of them.  There are a lot of good truckers out there.  Driving north of minot in the mornings is a nightmare with the base traffic.  No one says much about the people driving around with dogs in their laps, now that is another accident waiting to happen. Seriously tho, I have notice over the past few years people have become less and less about other people. In other areas it is less noticable because people quit paying attention long ago. I also think the state would be served well to put up cameras and at some of the more busy intersections in the rural area, where having a regular patrol is hard. Reply...

Yes, is best to have respect and give the right-of-way to something twice your size towing a load 10 times your size.  Apperently they want more, however.

As to the lil yellow precaution lite looming over 2 and 52 bypass, which has had the effect of throwing a pea down the eye of a hurricane is absolutely a stupidity on Minot and Ward County's part.  Its a place waiting for disaster and a good sue job.  A lil town trying to be big really sucks.  How about protecting your citizens first ?

I hate it when semi's tail gate.  Especially when the vehicle I am driving happens to be a little bitty geo-metro.  I will say that it doesn't happen very often.  I wish I had a button on the dashboard I could push that would light up a sign saying "back off A - - H - - -" when it does happen, though, especially at night.  Of course something like that would probably cause the semi to run right over me and later claim he didn't even see me.  Reply...

Wow someone is defensive! Im not hanging out my kitchen window at 2am, when i have seen them ON DUTY at 2 or 3 am im usually up with our little one. So i do happen to see them break the law ON DUTY. You sure didnt have to post anything. I mean if you have a problem with me posting as i wish, what i wish then thats YOUR problem. Maybe next time move on to the next "topic"? Just my opionion. Oh and by the way its not being bitter, obviously you have no idea how clicky this town is, and how many things are covered up. I just wondered why it wasnt at least in the paper, which seems to be a problem to you. Because i speak the truth on cops and you can not? instead get defensive and try to act like there isnt a single cop in minot that ever breaks the law while on duty? HAHA thats a good one! Im sure thats why no one else has posted, laughing at you for being so foolish. No one is perfect, i dont care who you are. Cop or not. Doesnt matter. I watch them pull onto the highway and theres alot of them who dont even signal. Emergency? NOT. Thats just plain not using a signal, last i checked that was a law. Now anyways why dont you get back to your ass kissing with the cop job, fake. I dont kiss their ass, i respect many of them, the ones who follow the laws, and even some of the ones who dont. Difference is i dont have a problem pointing out their flaws unlike you! You obviously dont know them the way you claim to. They are normal people. Not perfect innocent people. Doesnt happen, never has and never will!! Reply...

Wake up, I was talking about them on duty, not off duty. Lots of people do stupid things off duty, but just because they have a drink doesn't mean they're above the legal limit. I can drink a couple of beers and drive just fine and be well below the legal limit.

This is just dumb. Sneaky said it was on the news, so it was. If she saw it, then it was there...so your prayers were answered. Go watch tv instead of hanging out your kitchen window at 2am in the morning. Adios! Reply...
