Well, with any luck we will be at our house in Az tomorrow. I am so glad. It has been a long trip. We left one week ago tomorrow and have will have put about 2400 miles on the car.
Today, we went through Carlsbad Caverns. It really was neat. I think everyone should go if they get close to it. I walked through most of it. My husband took the handcapped trail and made it okay. I walked the entire great room trail and I walked the 7500 feet that takes you into mouth of the cave. It is almost straight down. It really gives you a idea of how huge the cave is and how far down it goes. Anyone else been there?
Theresa, I hope your surgery goes well. I have a sinus problem. I sometimes wonder if it is allergy induced or something else. By the way, I told my hubby you got hearing aids from the VA. How did you go about getting them? He needas them but we don't have the 7000 at least to pay for them. Are yours the digital ones?
WEll, gonna watch tv and hit the hay early. We want an early start tomorrow.

Curly that is a scary story with the cow poop on the car; do you know what I do all the time now? I carry my cell phone right next me and take photos of trucks and cars that are breaking the law, you should have called that truck in, that is not suppose to happen. My prayers are with you and your husband every day.
KO you are nice not to take advantage of what is yours, do your kids with him have military benefits? When I was a First Sergeant, I was always on men to own to their responsibilities. Like your friend with the child of a military man, that child is entitled to a life time of benefits. Enough about that I was getting worked up sorry.
Marilyn if you are reading this I am sorry if I made you mad. This room is a separate forum; we all just dump our stuff. Marilyn how about that bus accident in MN, and the today show had this story about boys hurting people for a YouTube moment.
Care do you have a map application on your phone? I do, I have a map of anywhere, and too bad I never go anywhere. Keep the Shelbeast up with her school, make sure she knows she has to be smart in her life, and not have to depend on any man to take care of her. I tell my daughter that every day; she needs to focus on college and not her looser boyfriend. I tell her knowing how to play “Call of Duty” video game will mean nothing when in 10 years. She makes me so mad; don’t get me started on that one.
Shoppe, I love you so this is for you...

Hay how come we don't have a McDonalds in Walmart?
I like the Eggnog shakes.
See you later, Theresa

That is incorrect. Jesus was not a liberal. He was a conservative. It is impossible to be both a liberal and a Christian because every liberal value is the exact oposite of the Bible and the Ten Commandments. That is why Democrats only go to church for photo ops. Reply...
Give the people a chance to read this 2000 plus page bill.
Will the Politicians read this before they vote ?
Why the rush as the start date is 2013 ?
Are they delaying the start until after the 2012 election seaon for a clever politicial reason ?
Vote NO until you read the bill. Reply...

This excerpt from Going Rouge: Sarah Palin-An American Nightmare appears in the November 30, 2009 issue of The Nation.
...she somberly raised the decision to move the "In God We Trust" motto to the edge of the presidential dollar coin. "Who calls a shot like that?" she said, insinuatingly. Actually, George W. Bush did. It was an embarrassing gaffe that also neatly captures the key elements of Palinism: fact-free conspiracy, hollow patriotism and public religiosity - - the very coins of Republican populist rage.
Consider the role Palin played in the "death panel" hysteria. The source was Betsy McCaughey.... But it was Palin who popularized the term on Facebook. "The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide.... Such a system is downright evil." Palin put a face on its supposed victims (her baby, Trig), contrived the expression "death panel" (linking it directly to Obama), raised the specter of euthanasia in the service of a state-run economy.
Palin's power lies not in her capacity to write legislation or win national elections but in her ability to torpedo the democratic process.
In the Palin universe, her unwed pregnant teenage daughter, Bristol, is somehow a poster child for abstinence-only education. An aggressive advocate for opening up oil reserves to drilling, she labels herself pro-environment, a stance exemplified by her love of shooting animals or her husband's hobby of racing snowmobiles across the tundra.
The secret to her success: neither the left nor the right can get enough of her. Reply...

Fox Again Uses Old Footage To Beef Up Crowd Numbers - - This Time For Palin
Rachel Slajda | November 18, 2009
Think Progress catches Fox News today again using old footage to make crowds look bigger than they were, this time to show all the people that are showing up for Sarah Palin's book tour. During a short segment about Palin "drawing crowds" on the tour, Fox played several clips that are obviously from rallies on the campaign trail last year. While the clips played, host Gregg Jarrett said, "These are some of the pictures just coming in to us. ... There's a crowd of folks."
Fox has the advantage here. They know that their audience really doesn't care if they doctored the video..They swallow anything Fox ladles out, whole and without question. So Fox has been caught three times this month lying and cheating. Fox doesn't care, and neither does their audience.

Sarah, Plain And Lying
The release of Sarah Palin's book, "Going Rogue: An American Life," has led to a number of attempts to check her facts. Surprise, surprise! The book takes some liberties with the facts. One such claim? According to the AP, Palin writes that she always made a point of traveling frugally, opting to avoid "high-end, robe-and-slippers" hotels. Actually, the former Alaska governor once billed her state $20K for travel expenses for her children - - for events they weren't even invited to. Other reports estimated that Palin spent $150,000 on a clothing shopping spree during last year's campaign. To be fair though, she didn't spend it on robes and slippers...
Palin writes that she ran for Governor on small campaign contributions, rejecting donations from big-time donors. According to the AP, "Of the roughly $1.3 million she raised for her primary and general election campaigns for governor, more than half came from people and political action committees giving at least $500, according to an AP analysis of her campaign finance reports. The maximum that individual donors could give was $1,000; $2,000 for a PAC."
"Going Rogue" features Palin's criticism of an aide to Gov. Frank Murkowski, Palin's predecessor, for representing the state in negotiations over a gas pipeline, and then leaving for a job with a highly-paid lobbyist for ExxonMobil. Palin claims her administration ended such "revolving door" relationships between the Alaska government and special interests. In reality, says the AP, the leader of Palin's own pipeline team was a former lobbyist for a subsidiary of TransCanada, the company that ended up winning the pipeline-building rights.
A series of emails obtained by The Huffington Post reveal the truth behind Palin's famous Saturday Night Live appearance. In the book, Palin says that "from the beginning, I liked the idea that John and I might appear on the show. 'Let's do this,' I said. 'Let's go on and neutralize some of this, and have some fun!'" The e-mails paint a slightly different picture. One dated October 14, 2008, quotes Palin as saying she is "not thrilled" about the idea. "Not after seeing clips of what they've been playing re: my family," she writes to top McCain campaign aides. "I had no idea how gross 'celebrities' on that show and in other celebrity venues could get when it comes to family and other aspects of my life that have nothing to do with seeking the vp slot. These folks are whack."
Remember Palin's infamous interview with Katie Couric? Well, according to Palin, she only sat-down with Couric because Nicole Wallace, former McCain campaign staffer, pushed her to help the news anchor's "self-esteem." Wallace tells a different tale: "The notion that there was a conversation that I tried to cajole her into an interview with Katie Couric is fiction," Wallace said. "I am not someone who throws around the word self-esteem. It is a fictional description."
No Palin interview is complete without a mention of Ronald Reagan, so of course her book includes some praise for the former U.S. President. According to Palin, the Reagan-era recession was far worse than what the U.S. is currently faced with, but he "showed us how to get out of one. If you want real job growth, cut capital gains taxes and slay the death tax once and for all." Hit us with Reply...

Hello everyone!
Anyone heard from Marilyn? I have not seen a post from her anywhere on the forum and a long time.
Well, I have been on a roll. We left last Saturday for Fargo. We stayed there until Monday morning and then we left for Minneapolis to see hubby's doc. They are making application to Workforce safety for him to have surgery. I am not sure if it is the right thing to do but the poor man needs to get releif and it is the only thing anyone has really offered. They will remove the metal from his spine and try to clean up L3. If approved it will be in Dec some time.
Then after his appointment was over, we left Minneapolis for AZ as a final destination. We are driving down a old car we bought for our use down there. It is an old Lincoln towncar. It is a 1999 and it is really still a very nice car and is perfect for what we need it for. It was cheap too.
The trip has gone pretty well, except for the fact that he is miserable and pretty high on pain meds so he can stand the ride. Right now he is passed out in bed and has been for about an hour and it is only 7:30 this time. We are in New Mexico. I hope to make it either tomorrow or the nxt morning. We will fly back to Bismarck on Dec 2. We will be there until the surgery is done or we will just fly back to Az for the remainder of the winter.
Gotta tell you a funny story. We were driving into a little town called Hampton Iowa. It was just getting dark and I was driving. It smelled like Pig, chicken cow dung and it was pungent. Well, a truck is coming from the front and just as it went by, one (or more) of the animals releived itself and it hit our car big time. I almost hit the ditch. Hard to see through that stuff. GROSS! The next morning I took the car to a do it your self car wash and spent 10 bucks washing the yuk off the car. I almost lost it cause I do not have a very strong stomach and that was about at the top of my limit.
Well, sounds like you are all fine. Si Ko I know you are very sad and I feel for you. Wish there was something we could do to ease your sorrow.
Well, good night ladies.
bye Reply...

A scathing Newsweek headline reads: "How do you solve a problem like Sarah?" The trade shows former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin in leg-bearing running gear, a photo she originally posed for to promote an active lifestyle in Runners World.
In comparison to other political figures, Sarah believes she is being treated unfairly. "I found it a wee bit degrading," she tells Barbra Walters on "Good Morning America" today.

You tell me if this is presidential material and what is really being sold here ? Nice legs, and I am a man just because i dont look at you (Shop) the same way men look at Sarah Palin, dumb beatuy queen, who made it purely on good looks.
Wry is right you stare at reality and ignore and pronounce ignorant blame on a liberals who only want to share what you have, because you are a LimBot brainwashed by a radio talk show host who only talks to get rateings of listining to something based on nothing but what his greatly over engrosesand over induced barbituated mind can spit out on the airwaves.
Goo luck with that way of thinking .

Hello everyone, how are you today? I am okay; I had a busy day today. Of course I started with the paper route, and then I went off to the soup kitchen at about 0730hrs. I made a banana cake this morning, if you ever have brown bananas; I have a great cake recipe. From bananas to cake in 45 minutes, if you want banana frosting an extra ten minutes. I add chocolate chips, everyone loves my banana cake. I helped get things ready for the soup kitchen, and then I had to get a CAT scan at 1130. So I had my CAT scan stood up and passed out, cold fish. I woke up to smelling salts, there were people around me and they wanted to take me to the emergency room. I didn’t want to go, but they said I had to and I can’t wait to see this bill. I have problems with passing out, I have no idea what triggered it. I am home now all safe at my computer.
KO, KO, KO, smells like you had a rough day, I remember those days of sick kids and poop. I really don’t want to think about it. Your x husband retired from the Military right? How long were you married to him, you know if you were married over ten years you are entitled to half of his retirement, did you know that? That is why my husband hopes I never leave him, there is no law that says he is entitled to half of my military retirement, but I get half of his. I would never take it, when we split it will be clean, divorce in a do it yourself box, sells at office max $79.99.
Care how is the clean up going, okay let’s do it… Let’s do a looky look at the world of Care
Care if I was there, we would be going to see The Beatles tribute band
