I wanted Mitt Romney for my President but people did not want him because they knew he could fix the economy but there would be no handouts... However he is the only person to put together state run healthcare that is still in existence... To insinuate that Sarah Palin is an empty suit... is ridiculous and pea brained.... She has every credential that she needs to be President... She was accomplished more than any other woman in politics has exceptHillary Clinton and that is simply because  her husband was not President, she is Pro-life and actually an attractive woman and wouldhave  thrown Todd out if he cheated on her... not put up with it... She has a moral compass,  higher standing , and has done more on her own politically than any other woman on the planet.... This is all she needs.... The real question is what had Barack accomplished  before he was elected? He had written two memoirs when no one knew he was ..... and now will do anything to build that Monument to himself.... and Sarah Palin has thrown hre graceful little shoes right in the crack  of the door and he cannot close it... And I am glad Reply...

I agree Curly, about MItt. He's a financial genius and should have been our prez all along. I will vote for him in a heartbeat. I will NOT vote for Palin. Sorry, but she comes across as a space cadet sometimes and it just doesn't set right with me. I won't vote for her just because she's a Republican. That's not the wise way to vote.

I don't care about the crib notes on Palin's hand. I do that myself and even did it when I was working. They're just reminders of things you need to do or talk about, and are not the same as reading word for word from a teleprompter. I think the libs are trying to milk this for everything they can, but it is falling flat. Sorry Libs!

Curly, and Shoppe,  I have to go get ready for the Variety Show at the High school tonight, my son the quiet one (not really) is in five different skits.  Curly those boxes are one flat rate. It can weigh 50 pounds or one pound same rate. I am surprised you did not know about them. Here is more information.

Guess who will pay for the added costs associated with the never ending unemployment bennefits??

Unemployment taxes slam businesses

Companies in at least 35 states will have to fork over more in unemployment insurance taxes this year, according to the National Association of State Workforce Agencies

The median increase will be 27.5%. And employers in places such as Hawaii and Florida could see levies skyrocket more than ten-fold.

Thanks Dumbama

I watched that interveiw as well,  I think we saw two different interveiws.  I do not like Palin either as a candidate at this time but I did not hear her say it would be absurd not to run.  Maybe it was when I was snoozing.  She said she would consider it if it was right for her country and family. I watched the interview with Chris Wallace.  She said she would if it was the right thing for her family and her country.  She said if she was asked to serve she would consider it.  I have seen several polls and she in most is not the favored candidate for the Republican party.  Looks like it would still be Mitt Romney.  He is the one that should have run against Obama in the first place.  At least he maybe knows how to run a check book and perhaps figure a way out of this debt mess.  That is the thing that worries me about the country and our issues most.  Insolvency.  Does nobody else really see how devastating this is for our country?  The administration has an opportunity for a start at settling our debt and putting the tarp funds back in the fund to pay back our debt.  No more jobs bills etc.  I don't see that happening.  I think it will just be more spend spend spend.  The freeze he spoke of sounds like a joke from what I have seen. Obama would destroy Palin in hypothetical race, poll finds

WASHINGTON - - Sarah Palin predicted Sunday that Barack Obama would lose the presidency if he was currently facing re-election. But apparently that's far from true if she's the Republican challenging him, a new poll finds.

"I think if the election were today, I do not think Obama would be re-elected," Palin said on Fox News.

While studies find the president's job approval ratings on a downward curve, a just-released poll by the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion finds that Obama would decisively defeat Palin in a hypothetical race between the two and independent New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Marist found that Obama would win such a match-up by 15 points, garnering 44 percent of the vote to Palin's 29. Bloomberg was behind with 15 percent.

The race may well turn out to be a reality as polls show Palin is a leading contender for the Republican nomination in 2012. She also strongly suggested this weekend she may enter the race, telling Fox's Chris Wallace it would be "absurd not to consider" running.

"Electing a president who needs to write "energy" and "taxes" on her hand
is like boarding a plane with a pilot who has 'landing gear' written on her hand."

O’Reilly: ‘Some tea partiers nuts, crazy, loons, out of their minds’

Fox News anchor Bill O'Reilly is better known for picking fights with liberals, but on Monday he turned his combative drive toward an unsuspecting crowd: teabaggers.

"Some of these tea parties are nuts," O'Reilly told Fox News anchor Brit Hume. "They're crazy."

Hume was silent, and O'Reilly added that Fox News' Jesse Waters, who attended the high-profile Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, "puts the number at about 110 percent, that are just loons, out of their minds."

O'Reilly's words came in response to Hume's suggestion that there are "very few really favorable stories about the tea partiers."

His remarks are doubly surprising not only because O'Reilly seldom takes on conservative groups or causes so explicitly manner, but also because the network that has made his career is a vigorous supporter of the tea party movement.

Marilyn,  I have spent money on therapy to find my void.  Been to Overeaters ann.  I have counseled with my dear pastor. Prayed and prayed about this.  I am sadly addicted to food and the comfort it gives me.  I know my triggers and some days I can control it and some days it controls me.  I like you have very few things around that are trigger foods.  I had some licorice and that was all it took and I was off to the races.  Now today I am fine.  Just walked for my hour and am feeling fine.  Hubby is doing a little better today too.  He is taking a little more pain meds to try to keep it under control till doc calls us back on thursday morn.  All things working better today.  Now I am going to go do a little house maintanence.  I think we are going to make beer butt chicken tonight.  We love it.  Have any of you made it??? Theresa, I think the Buzz-Obama thing is something about how he kinda thinks he IS Buzz and will get the job done. I thought it was cute cuz he was in  Buzz's outfit. Wonder what Buzz wore that day?

Curly, I understand the eating thing. I try not to keep things here that I really like, except for dark chocolate. I always have that here. I'm an emotional eater too......they say we're filling a void in our life with food. What is our void? That's what we need to admit to and then do something about it in a different way that won't lead to weight gain!

We have tons of snow. I hope it's done, no wait....I want MORE! I l love snow, always have! Fox just said NYC and Philly will be getting up to 18" and Chicago O'Hare has cancelled over 500 flights!

I have a toothache and my eyes hurt. My dentist retired last summer so I have to find a new one. I don't like the new fangled ones. The one I had was so relaxing to go to. His wood floors creaked and it didn't feel like a dental office. He had a receptionist, and no techs to speak of.  Just him. Very relaxing and I didn't mind going in there. Then there's the other dental office I used to go to here. Very business like, techs all over the place, two receptionists. Too medical for me and I hate going there. What do I do? My molar hurts...my eyes hurt and now my neck hurts. ARGH!! Reply...

Hello everyone, how are you today? I am swell thanks, for asking! Nothing much is happening here today, or yesterday. I brought one of my Scotties to get groomed, I have two so they take turns each month so each dog gets groomed every weeks.

Curly I can understand missing this place, I love going home to New York.  After a week of eating too much good stuff, and see how many cops got shot the night before. Not to mention the traffic, it is glad to come back to all the nice people of Minot.  I went and got four military flat rate boxes form the post office and I will fill them up and hopefully send them off by Friday.  Are there women in the Guard at Kosovo also? I am going to put a note on the box, and ask him to give the boxes away to people that get much from home. I am going to pack cookies, gum, soft wipes, a nice hand lotion from bath and body works, hand sanitizer, lip balm, and whatever else will fit in the box. I will write a little note to let them know they are in my prayers.  Curly go buy yourself a Wii game system, it has a karaoke game, and a exercise dance game. It makes me laugh, I love to laugh at myself, and I am so funny.

Shoppe, are you getting snow again. Good thing I didn’t move to North Carolina with all that snow. Really we were considering moving to North Carolina when we retired from the Air Force, our children have moved so many times in their life. Changing schools is difficult, especially with Christopher and his Aspergers Autism. He was in a groove here, highest honor student and he had friends. Friends were something he never really had. So we stayed in Minot. My husband wanted to get his Masters and this as good a place as any.   I used to love the 100th day of school; the kids always had to bring 100 of something. One teacher was really creative and told the children one hundred of one thing that they can mix together to make a trail mix. I think PA is going to get another storm this weekend.  What kind of sport does your son in law coach?  I saw Avatar over the weekend again, I like that movie, but that was the last time.

Care, Hay what up girly, girl! Did someone in the Forum make you mad, you tell me, I have some geodes (Italian hit men) that can break their legs?  I hope your job is Okay, pretty scary I know.

KO Sunday was a pretty dull day, and this Saturday is I don’t know what is happing for Valentine’s Day. Maybe if I can find a Valentine, I will give him a whirl.

I asked Sick-O yesterday, whatever happened to the moderator for the forums. It is funny how people can slam Jews, but if someone said something about a Native, or a black person, the wheels of hell would roar.  I try to ignore them.

Marilyn you have lots of snow also. I still don’t get the Buzz Obama joke.

Shoppe for you,

939

This guy looks happy, I would give him a big hug!

Theresa

Curly... I had no idea.   I thought they would charge for the box and then charge to send, so I told them I would be back Wednesday..... duh.. I should have asked.   Anyway,  now I know.

Doesn't walking just make you feel so good.. I absolutely love it... as long as its not too cold,  not uphill,  my shoes are comfy,  I have my sunglasses, there aren't too many pebbles,  no dogs chasing me,  have my music with me,  IF I have all that curly,  I can walk just fine.... LOL

When my husband spent that year suffering excrusiating pain from his disc in his back I suffered almost as much as him just watching.  I felt so  helpless to do anything..  So I know what you and your husband are going thru.

I would say if he takes the pain meds and sleep... then Praise God!  Let him get that relief at least.  Good idea.

My husband isn't one to take pain medication so it was so hard to get him to take anything.  But when he did , it helped.  Also his cortasone shots in his back helped.

If he is careful and doesn't lift things too heavy he is at the point where he doesn't have any pain.  But one wrong move and it could happen again.   He got thru without any surgury this time Curly.
