EXTENDED FORECAST
(Friday night through Wednesday)
As the Polar Vortex (Cold upper level low) lifts to the north this weekend a "warming trend" will occur this weekend and perhaps into Monday. Some light snow will also occur both Saturday and Sunday (especially northern areas). The problem with this particular pattern is the timing of the arctic invasions and the subsequent warm ups that follow. Earlier projections suggested a cold weekend with a warming trend next week. Now it appears as though another piece of the cold Canadian low will plow through the region early next week with very cold air to follow. The mid-range computer models have been wrestling with timing issues regarding this next wave of cold air so stay tuned for any future modifications that may come about as the models hopefully converge on one solution. In addition some snowfall will likely precede the arrival of the cold air.
