Cameron Brewer is a native of Conyers, Georgia, and a graduate of Albany State University (ASU) in Albany, Georgia. Cameron graduated from ASU in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Mass Communication. While a senior at ASU, Cameron participated in a 6-week International Internship Program at Xiamen University in Xiamen, China. One of his assignments in China included visiting media outlets in Beijing and Shanghai. During his Internship, Cameron also attended classes with university students enrolled at Xiamen University and assisted some of his classmates with writing an article on Pollution that became so noteworthy that it was published in the Xiamen Daily.
Additionally, while attending ASU, Cameron worked as a Disc Jockey for the school radio station, WASU Real 92.7, hosting his weekly Quiet Storm evening program. He became a very popular radio host on campus, and many students and faculty members tuned in to listen to his weekly radio show. Known also, by his radio ‘Call Name,’ DJ Cam-I-Be, Cameron has had the opportunity to ‘DJ’ for many wedding receptions, anniversary, birthday and retirement parties, various local Atlanta Public School functions, and for the United Way, sponsoring a program focusing on the awareness and need for students to stay in school.
Cameron got his start in broadcasting in Mississippi working as a Multi-media Journalist for WGBC-TV.
Cameron joined the KX News team in June 2021 as a Multi-Media Journalist and is very excited to be a part of the News Team. During his down-time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, disc jockeying for various events, traveling, and playing with Evan, his Yorkie Terrier.
