Food Delivery up in the Midwest as weather gets colder

Good Day Dakota

As North Dakota faces record-breaking cold temperatures, food delivery is really heating up. According to Bite Squad, delivery orders in the midwest were up 12% since the temperatures have dropped.

I talked to a Bite Squad representative who told me some of the most popular foods people were getting delivered to them in North Dakota.

  • Pad Thai is up 64%.
  • Soup is up 63%
  • French Fries are up 88%
  • Wings are up 22%

And with soup being one of the top foods, they told me some of the most preferred soups right now.

  • Miso Soup
  • Chicken Wild Rice
  • Wonton Soup
  • Chicken Noodle Soup

I talked to the lead food driver for Bismarck Bite Squad who said specifically in Bismarck people order a lot of wings.

But with it being it being so cold and snowy, what happens if they were to get stuck on a food run?

Lead driver for the Bismarck Bite Squad, Isaiah Lindsay says, “Thankfully I have never gotten stuck with food, but if it were to ever happen to where you are completely stuck and you have food. I would just call dispatch and say hey I’m stuck and I have this order and I am not going to be able to get to the customer in time can you have them remake it.”

Lindsay says he doesn’t mind driving in this cold weather to much and thinks food delivery will continue to rise.
