Senator John Hoeven will host a flood protection meeting this morning with the Chief of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers along with other federal, state and local officials.
The aim is to to help identify funding sources to build the future phases of the region’s flood protection project.
Senator Hoeven wants to make sure that funding will be available to complete the first big chunk of the project, which will provide flood protection for 60 percent of people living in the Mouse River Valley.
That meeting is happening at 9 this morning at Minot’s City Hall.
Later today Senator Hoeven will head to Fargo to discuss flood protection for the Red River Valley.
